NaoPos
From the DC crowd forum: Here in SE DC, we are back to mostly, if not all snow. It went from snow around 630am, to rain/sleet by 800am. Now the snow! Sounds like the cold air is doing battle down there.

Latest HRRR has 8-12" for the Lehigh Valley btw, which I wish would happen but it's definitely overdoing it. Cut those amounts in half and that's probably closer. Cut those amounts by 75% and you have an answer I'd say.

dssbss
...SNOW AND RAIN WILL MOVE NORTHEASTWARD THROUGH THE REGION THIS MORNING... A WINTRY MIX OF SNOW AND RAIN, POSSIBLY MIXING WITH SOME SLEET, WILL SPREAD NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS THE REGION THIS MORNING. WHERE MAINLY SNOW FALLS, EXPECT AROUND A HALF AN INCH OF SNOW ACCUMULATION. TEMPERATURES ARE GENERALLY IN THE LOW TO MID 30S ACROSS THE REGION AND WILL GRADUALLY WARM OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS. PERIODS OF HEAVIER PRECIPITATION WILL CAUSE VISIBILITIES TO DROP AND ROADWAYS TO BECOME SLIPPERY. EXERCISE CAUTION IF VENTURING OUT TODAY AND ALLOW FOR EXTRA TRAVEL TIME. Temps in the mid 30s? B Dawk 20
Since we don't have a banter thread I'll throw this in here. My own very poor estimation of today's event:

famartin
Well, now that this event is upon us, after looking over the data I can say that a bit of frozen at the start appears likely here at TTN. I could see several inches, but at this point I think the best forecast here is a coating to 2 inches, or "around an inch", on Wednesday. thats rather bullish coming from you Bullish? I only forecast what I expect. I've got a perfect record here so far this season (though the first one was admittedly right for the wrong reasons). You do not hype and are often the voice of reason that cuts through much of the snow weenieism. With Mt Holly not calling for really anything for this area, I am taking notice of your call. Im a bit to the north of your parents in Belle Mead so I will keep an eye out as we may have to do some light salting and plowing if we get an inch or so

chrisNJ
Looks like the new Euro shows 3-6 inches here in Upper Bucks. Maybe I am mis-reading but this is based on snow maps via Wx Underground. And the 2M freezing line never makes it above ABE.

phlwx
NAM did better than the GFS/EC in the very short term today with start time. It's got value for nowcasting precip starts and sometimes ptypes but is often a dumpster fire beyond 12 or 18 hours.
