michsnowfreak
It certainly looks like an active pattern shaping up. A while back some were saying each storm should hit a little further SE than the previous. So far, this is working out, as the NW edge of tomorrows snowstorm is hitting just SE of the previous snowstorm.

Chinook
I would think most of us in IN/OH/SeMi would take this run. I like this run. I should be in Toledo to document this historic 6" snowfall. The 0z ECMWF sure is nice with 528dm over Toledo. It would be hard to get rain with that. jhamps10
Chad is already saying it could be a significant freezing rain/sleet event for LAF. ha, although there's a pretty good possibility of that happening, with the current setup there's gonna be a good chunk of ice with this one I'm afraid of. Hoosier
set-up doesn't look anything like a major icing event to me Overall look does support ice...question is where and whether it is a major pounding in one area or more of a spread the wealth type of thing. Snowman99
set-up doesn't look anything like a major icing event to me Chris Higgins, a very well respected met in St. Louis, has a forum and he says conceptually it has the looks of a major ice and snow storm for the midwest. The cold air likely being underdone by models..oozing down and the storm throwing moisture back up into the cold. Who knows, lol.

jhamps10
set-up doesn't look anything like a major icing event to me not for Chicagoland, but just a general glance at the overall setup, someone's gonna get hit with ice from this, question on where and how much of course. It's not worth quibbling over but I look for prolonged over-running events over a semi-stationary baroclinic zone with shallow cold air when looking for major ice threats. Of course it's silly to take anything verbatim but the exact solution actually isn't terrible. Mix/ice changing to a period of rain and then some accumulating snow.
