0.50" of rain so far...

It looks like the RAP is showing a solid hit form the deform band here.

Yeah, but you changeover two hours earlier than here. There's one panel where LAF is almost surrounded on all sides by snow...it's quite comical. But just short range model fodder. Just in case, good thing though I stuck to my guns on a T for MBY.

You are still going to get at least an inch, if not 2!!!!

If anyone is going to get a T, it will be me..

The morning AFD from DVN is pretty intense.

THE GRADIENT OF AROUND 30 MB

OVER IOWA TODAY SHOULD BE MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR VERY HIGH WINDS

SUSTAINED AROUND 40 MPH...GUSTING TO 50 - 60 MPH THROUGH THIS

EVENING. TREE DAMAGE AND POWER-LINE DAMAGE CERTAINLY APPEARS LIKELY

DUE TO WET SNOW ACCUMULATION ON THEM STRESSED FARTHER BY HIGH

WINDS. VISIBILITIES SHOULD BE SUB 1/4 IN OPEN AREAS OVER MOST THE

CWA IN HEAVY SNOW TODAY. ...ONCE IT BEGINS... IT APPEARS THE

BURLINGTON THROUGH QUAD CITIES TO FREEPORT COUNTIES WILL NOT

CHANGE TIL 9 AM TO 11 AM...BUT ONCE IT DOES... A HIGH IMPACT EVENT

WILL UNFOLD. RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR SHOULD ALLOW FOR A

QUICK 4 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER IN

SOUTHEAST IOWA NORTHEAST TO AROUND FREEPORT. HEAVY QPF IN MODELS

IS CONCERNING FOR MORE SNOW...AND WILL BE WATCHED CLOSELY AS

THINGS EVOLVE...THOUGH THE WIND IS AS MUCH AS A THREAT AS ANY WITH

THIS EVENT.

Well, off to work. Not sure if I'll be able to make it back home later today or not. Even if I can there might not be power. Enjoy the storm everyone.

Newest RAP is pulling the new deformation zone away from eastern Iowa faster this morning. Radar is also showing the developing precip shield shifting eastward. This is looking like a pretty big bust for CR.

I think this is a thing with the RAP...it tends to stall out defo bands in the long range and then trends towards quicker NE ejections as time moves forward.

You'll probably manage a few tenths :(

1-2" here still looks good.

Snow started here at 10:15 and quickly became moderate. Measured 7.8" in 3 different locations a half hour ago. Water equivalent was .86". This is a very high confidence measurement -- the snow's very wet and the wind isn't making an impact at 10-15mph out of the NE.

We've now switched over to a light mix of rain and sleet. Temp has gone up from 30.6 at 11pm to 32.8F currently.

Location is 40 miles north and a few miles west of Downtown Milwaukee. 12 miles inland from the Lake MI shoreline in far south-central Sheboygan county.

lots of convective elements feeding into the developing deformation band that will rock cycloneville...hopefully we see some crazy reports later of +SN and 70 mph gusts.

dryslot now fully through chicago...hopefully some low topped convection will blow up ahead of the approaching low.
