XcNick
So close to being in the heavy snow band. Models today took away all hope from that. Im thinking 3-6"
Geos
18z GFS gets the surface low down to about 982 mb west of Kankakee IL before slowly filling. Have any idea why wunderground maps are showing the low way in the heck up here!?

I guess after seeing that the GFS is pretty much the only Warm model for me. Still, im trying to set my standards low.

I'm definitely going pessimistic with the rain/snow line so close to Madison, won't be surprised if we end up getting rain for awhile, but hopefully we won't. THURSDAY NIGHT NORTHWEST STORM FORCE WINDS TO 50 KT INCREASING TO 60 KT EARLY. SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS IN THE EVENING. SNOW THROUGH THE NIGHT. turtlehurricane
18z GFS showing 0.7" of rain in Madison, disaster. Still showing over 1" liquid that's snow though. Only thing that can be said for certain at this point is it's gonna be close.

Natester
Snow started 15 minutes ago. Very wet in nature and it is starting to accumulate already. There was no rain at the outset, all snow. You can possibly tell where the rain/snow line is. I have a feeling that the rain/snow line will be a bit more SE than what the GFS is depicting. Can hear the pitter patter of rain hitting the eastern windows. You can see some convective looking precip blowing up over Missouri now. Should move north into Iowa and really kick things off later this evening...

Hoosier
21z RAP has a 987mb low just WSW of PIA at 15z tomorrow, bombing out. The wind fields on there look closer to the beefier GFS (there are pockets of 60 kts at 925 mb at the end of the run).
