I never said I would not get snow? I said snow to rain, I think we can pull off an inch or two before ending as light rain/drizzle. Hopefully the quicker gfs verifies.

You may change back to snow before ending too. The initial E/SE flow in the BL warms up your region. I see a lot fo people looking at just 850 temps on these setups.

Though it will be close...if we get a slight dent in the isobars and it keeps the wind more NE, you might hang onto mostly snow. The 06z NAM is a good example of this.

It depends what model you are believing...the 06z GFS has an inch down already by midnight for most everyone south of the pike...about up to my area. ECMWF just starts it snowing late evening and the bulk of it is Christmas morning. I'd probably favor something down the middle....snow starts in CT by 00z and up in Ray's area by midnight.

Out to the east, this could hold on for much Christmas afteroon though...the ULL on a lot of guidance stretches back the sfc reflection to prolong the snow in the east.

Yeah so maybe snow starts by 8:00-9:00 in Ct. Even back here it looks like lighter snows could linger much of the day.

This is just a true Christmas miracle folks.

Looks like a white Christmas is guaranteed in my old stomping grounds in Lowville

... Moderate to heavy snow and blowing snow east of Lake Ontario this

morning...

An area of moderate to heavy snow along with gusty winds to 35 mph

is located from Fulton to Pulaski... Adams... Watertown and Lowville

near 8 am this morning. Accumulating snow with rates of one to one

and one half inches per hour will persist through 9 am. Reduced

visibilities and slippery spots can be found on sections of

Interstate 81 between Syracuse and Watertown and I 481 in Oswego County

as well as covered secondary roads as well. Motorists should use

extra caution of traveling through the area this morning and allow

extra time to get to their destinations.

. Winter Storm Warning in effect until 11 PM EST this evening...

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Winter Storm

Warning for heavy snow and blowing snow... which is in effect

until 11 PM EST this evening. The Winter Weather Advisory is no

longer in effect.

* Locations... the north country... mainly across the Tug Hill and higher

elevations southeast of Lake Ontario.

* Hazards... heavy snow and blowing snow.

* Accumulations... an additional 5 to 9 inches today... and up to 2

inches this evening. Greatest accumulations will be across the

Tug Hill and higher terrain southeast of Lake Ontario.
