Thoughts..... My current SmartCast for 16/21Z to 16/21Z Significant storm system pushing through the WA and OR areas. Looking at a variety of impacts across the states. Bowers Field area: Looking at potential for 8+ inches of snowfall, with period of freezing rain from 10 to 13Z. Snowfall rates could be up to 1.7” per hour from 00Z and 04Z. Yakima Area: Looking at potential for 4.5” of snowfall, with isolated snowfall rates of 1.1” possible from 02Z to 05Z. Astoria Area: Looking at heavy rainfall, with over 1.8” of rainfall possible and winds gusting up to 51MPH. Generally across WA area looking at 1.0 to 1.8” of rainfall during the next 24 hours.
