Temp has fallen a weenie 0.3F here the last 10 minutes to halt the fairly rapid rise to 27.6F at its high point...not sure if it is real from the cold tuck...we'll find out over the next 15-30 minutes.

Its real...down another 0.4F to 26.9F. That was quick.

Might be a night where ne ct has a better shot than nw. Almost all of nwct now at or above freezing. Oh well , 33f rain ftw I guess

Yeah Barkhamsted/Hartland west toward Cornwall/Norfolk now is it in NW CT.

I could see Union getting in on the cold push but it likely will not get past the CT River Valley.

The same reason Ekster didn't issue the ice storm warning for Tolland in 2008....despite Kevin's objections, lol. Still one of the best ice storm warning/watch maps I've seen in such a tough forecast...the only spot that was missed was Essex county...always a nasty spot in these CAD events...they can either be in or they can be out...matter of miles.

Is that heavy batch of precip moving in going to be ZR?

I don't think it can be anything else here at this point. Maybe some sleet way up near SE NH. Further north, into Maine, they can get more snow out of it. This batch of precip is the worry for ice though in ORH county and Middlesex/Essex counties....its not going to warm at all between now and when it comes in...or if it does, its negligible. Its going to be ZR.

A very nasty icing situation has developed, but we've been warning about it for a few days now while people were tying nooses over snowfall.
