SpartyOn
Trying to follow this thread, as I have to drive to Marysville this upcoming week (weekend)... what are the chances the I75 corridor (up from Georgia) and then I94 from Detroit to Marysville gets hit - I don't have a lot of experience in the snow, so need to plan as best I can... Thanks in advance. Hammer Need to pin down a track 1st. Still very far out.
Thundersnow12
12z GEM also ejects further south like the GFS over AMA then heads to STL-Effingham-northern IN then really slows down.
A-L-E-K
nice looking defo on that ggem run
AppsRunner
12z GEM slower and stronger, but not shifting nw at all. In fact, the surface low tracks from southeast MO to northern IN(990mb). 12z GGEM kicks east after 108 hours with a lot of bagginess in the isobars toward the coast. Basically hits a brick wall at Chicago and heads ENE from there
dmc76
Don't tease me with that GGEM run.
cyclone77
GEM shows a lot of rain falling over northern Illinois prior to the intensification/changeover to heavy snow. That would be a very interesting situation. Doesn't happen very often.
Chicago WX
Canadian p-type maps through 120 hours: http://collaboration.cmc.ec.gc.ca/cmc/cmdn/pcpn_type/pcpn_type_gem_reg.html Sexy backend for some that rain initially. At least it's something...

cyclone77
50kts in the CCC, nice! Definitely would make for legitimate blizzard conditions if that pans out.

cyclone77
Haha and the only mention of the NOGAPS comes from Gino rooting for it on facebook lol too funny I didn't know that model was even ran anymore. Thought it was in the model graveyard alongside the NGM. So at this point the NAM is the clear outlier. That's not saying much though considering the NAM isn't too reliable at this range. Hoosier
12z Euro looks a tad weaker at 84 hours. Less warming out ahead.

Thundersnow12
996mb southeast of STL. South of the 0z Euro. All snow here at that time.

The funny thing is that the NOGAPS has 4DVAR initialization, which is what the Euro has.
