CT Rain
If we have a flutie run this is probably it or some point today. We need significant polar bear flatuelence to perturb the flow up north and build the high down via chaos. I still think we might luck out with system 1 with a colder appeal NE of here. But probably meh in my state.
Ginx snewx
SREF plume viewer jackpotting Dendrite Snow NH To Jefffafa. Seems pretty consistent that is the sweet spot, Hunchie has a nice stripe then ice. Looks dicey Petes way for ice, rest of SNE is trace to a couple of inches with glaze on them thar hills http://www.spc.noaa....r/sref/fplumes/
mahk_webstah
DT going for 7-16 for CNE to NNE for Midweek storm. Blue bomb special. Great base layers, as discussed a week ago, winter comes first to the north and elevations then moves to the coast in time for Christmas . Seems oh so very normal if there is such a thing. We intend to build our snowpack, grow our own cold air and advect it down to you asap. A snow pack will do wonders for all of us in terms of creating some cold air via radiational cooling. We haven't had deep snow cover persisting for 22 months. I agree that this seems like a normal winter, and that we are slowly stepping down. Unfortunately I will miss the action this week as I'll be in London and Chicago. Home on the 23rd and expect to have at least 6 on the ground and adding to it between xmas and new years. Clinch Leatherwood
High is nosing down pretty good this run. It feels like we've been watching this storm since Thanksgiving and it's still 2+ days away.

CT Rain
you're post or text from the other day about possibly whiffing on both systems may prove right for a good chunk of the SNE Yup. Clinch Leatherwood
you're post or text from the other day about possibly whiffing on both systems may prove right for a good chunk of the SNE Euro last night nudged the high down enough that it shunted the redeveloper out pretty far. NAM is robust at 1036 through

CT Rain
The only 6z GEFS members that have any chance for SNE flakes with wave 2 are the ones that are slow and hold everything back until Wednesday.

Clinch Leatherwood
NAM is cooler than 0z and 6z but less moist than both as they obviously go hand in hand. EDIT to me the NAM is clearly trending to the Euro idea.
40/70 Benchmark
you're post or text from the other day about possibly whiffing on both systems may prove right for a good chunk of the SNE I said the same thing.....system one would trend anemic, and the big dog would be a rainer. I can't stand these multi wave situations...couple that with the fact that there is no cold, and odds were against anything but boredom.
40/70 Benchmark
Hey. here is a crazzzzzzzzy idea that just may work...how about we have ONE, SINGLE, potent sw round the base of a trough with a cold high over Quebec, and block over the west side of Greenland. Word on the street has it that this used to happen...
CT Rain
Wave 1 a decent hit still for NH/VT/ME. Nice for them. Curtains for SNE.

I'm not loving the NYE period at all at this point.

Great solution for ski country aside of the southern new England ones. Nice mood snow for everyone, couple/several inches.

ORH_wxman
The CAD in the mid-levels at the MA/NH border is pretty remarkable...it wasn't just one weenie run doing that...12z NAM is doing ti again and a lot of other guidance doing it. Watch Ray end up with 6" of paste after complaining for the last 24 hours, lol.
CT Rain
Probably a sliver of ice north of ORH too on the NAM. I'm thinking a lot of liquid south of ORH.

Watch Ray end up with 6" of paste after complaining for the last 24 hours, lol. It's not even as much CAD as it is a front around 850mb that allows the winds to veer north of it. Too late for many of us but northern sections of SNE may luck out. That's what creates that 850mb temp "wall" near the NH/MA border.

powderfreak
NAM's got that first system as warning snows for Dendrite and points NE with 0.5-1.0" QPF... advisory level stuff back this way with a 3-6" type deal. Verbatim of course.

moneypitmike
Pretty good 6-10" swath of snow Congrats--you're golden.
