Baroclinic Zone
Yes. Totally agree. I don't get what the deal is. How many times were phrases like "based on the trends today" or "as modeled" and so on used. Just went through the thread and its way too many. NECT
Since I read 10000x more than I post, I wouldn't mind seeing a met only thread for upcoming events alongside one for anyone. I like the banter and the other crap to a point as it's informative and entertaining. But i wouldn't mind a thread that didn't require wading through all the other stuff. Truth be told they just have to moderate the existing threads. It wouldn't take long for it to fall back in line. It wasn't all that long ago that we had very good threads well mixed with amateurs and pros. It's the nonsense nudity talk, stuff that would make many pros cringe like the Heather talk yesterday, and the rest of it that goes unaltered that creates the problems and illicits far too many responses that would not be there otherwise. Lay out some new rules, everyone conforms or they post in the banter threads. I've seen a couple in the northern sky. Look just to the NE of Orion. It's a pretty good show. Basically for all of us look ENE about halfway up off the horizon.
HIPPYVALLEY
So you discount what it shows? Why? I did not say ignore it I said we are not in it's most accurate time. Relatively speaking if you are a wx weenie hoping for a more wintery outcome you shouldn't despair based on what tonights sref is showing.

Quincy
NAM is very wet, but the thermal profile doesn't look much different. Will wait for higher res data to find out. (viewing from my phone)

ORH_wxman
Wow, the NAM brings the ML warming to a halt near the MA/NH border. That is pretty close.
CT Rain
Close to a nice snow event ASH-PSM. Yeah nice for NH and S ME. Probably a nasty glaze of ice to the south but not enough QPF for anything wild. Thinking a lot may fall as rain down this way.

Bostonseminole
I just got off work and trying to catch up, it's ridiculous that I had to read all this crap in the non banter thread. I know we can do better than this!
Quincy
FWIW: QPF is over 1.25" for most of Mass., bullseye 1.5+ in SW Conn.

CoastalWx
looks like Manchester would do well wouldnt it? If you take the NAM verbatim, yes. But, taking the NAM verbatim at this stage is a little risky.

I feel like the atmosphere is just 2 ticks too warm for BOS/TOL/BDL. It's annoying but maybe we'll get lucky.

I'm hoping winds can stay north enough to start as snow here, but you know what, is inevitable for this area. I think we can start as frozen.
