snowman21
how's the snowpack up there? lol-in this warm of a pattern, it doesnt really matter where you live.... It's Connecticut. Arguing over who gets more snow is like two midgets arguing over who is taller. At the end of the day, 95% of us in this state don't average a whole lot of snow or wintry weather. Ginx snewx
Think of it as an unexpected treadmill for coyotes. Its an extension to the top of your fence that spins, when they try to jump over they cannot. Going to serve a double purpose, keeping soon to be big dog girl in and coys out from having the ankle biters for lunch.

CapturedNature
Have you ever lived in an area where the stars shine without city lights, where the snowy nights are so quiet you can hear the flakes landing, where on cold crisp nights you can hear the sap freezing in the trees? Just curious. The hustle and bustle of the city is awesome for the social aspect but I prefer to visit and watch the zoo rather than being a part of it. Well said! I love those crisp night under the stars or walking around when there is light snow falling. I'm glad I live so close to so much forestland. Especially the evergreen forests - they can be so peaceful. Everyone should also hear the sound of the forest in the spring when the maples wake up and you start to hear the drips of sap in the buckets. On a good day it's like the forest is playing it's own song!

CapturedNature
While I love the sound of maple sugaring, it means my favorite season is winding down I know but it's part of the rhythm of nature my friend! How do you think I feel when it's late January and I'm starting to put out tanks and mid-February when I'm trudging through the snow to get the taps in? To me it kind of helps me wind down from winter. It gives me something to do during that time when you know the inevitable is going to happen. I'm not really setup for the public but I know of a couple out your way that are so when the time comes, PM me and I'll send some suggestions. Things get busy in the sugarhouse and you have to constantly feed wood or watch the thermometer for draw offs. I lose too much if I have too many folks around. I have a video that we did for a failed Kickstarter project earlier this year if you're interested - You can see me & my family in there as well as some shots from around the area. N. OF PIKE
Ct has plenty of elevated areas where people live that average 50-65 inches a year. Which is pretty good. There maybe 2 percent of population that ave 80 aoa 1500feet in nw ct.
CapturedNature
banana hammocks, palm trees and sun baby! Don't laugh, but there is a variety of palm trees that can take temps down to around -10. There are people as far north as the CT coast that grow them in the ground and put Christmas lights around them and wrap them in bubble wrap to make them survive. I think a south facing exposure wrapped in plastic just might survive even up to central CT....LOL
