JB Fins
^^^ This is the one DT is semi-honking about. He posted an updated video last night I dunno, hope it pans out, this 37 degrees and bone aching rain is just miserable. I think I hear everybody saying it will get squashed. weathervswife
I like the surface temps for that January 4th storm. 850's aren't great this far out, but check out the surface temps. It's below freezing into central NC. Whatever makes it up here should be frozen. And since you're dying to know, I got .25" of snow this morning. :-) But it's all gone now :-(
WeSuck
12z GFS Ensembles look quite nice! Also, DT just went ***ALERT*** on FB. Could it actually happen? At least we are only 5 days out instead of 8-9 days... EDIT: Oh and birds are flocking like crazy outside my house atm and we had a ring around the moon a few nights ago and we are going into January and we have to make up for averages from last year.... RIC Airport
It's official....2012 was the warmest year on record for Richmond since daily temperature recordings began in January 1897. Top 10 Warmest Years at Richmond (since 1897) 1. 61.2°F (2012) 2. 61.1°F (1990) 3. 60.8°F (2011) and (2006) 4. 60.7°F (1991) 5. 60.4°F (1921) 6. 60.0°F (2010) and (1998) 7. 59.9°F (2008) and (1953) 8. 59.8°F (2005) and (1900) 9. 59.7°F (1949) 10. 59.5°F (2002) and (1913) 1981-2010 average: 58.8 °F 1897-2012 average: 58.1°F Looks like much of the warmth can be contributed to high overnight minimum temperatures as the average minimum of 50.6°F is the highest on record for any year. In addition, the number of days with a temperature <= 32°F was much below normal with only 55 such days compared to a normal of 83. This ranks as the 2nd fewest on record behind 1990's 51 days.
