SEVAsNOwSTORM
00z GFS even has a lot of sleet for me. I think the GFS is on crack. We'll see which one ends up being right and I'm sticking with that model for the rest of the winter.

Coach McGuirk
If I had to guess, 2-3 inches on the peninsula and 1-3 inches on the southside depending on sleet.

D-Money
That map seems like a winner to me. Looks like upper air issues starting at hour 24 on 0z gfs.
SoCoWx
Latest run of the GFS came in slightly wetter. Just thought everyone would like to know. Somebody posted it over on DT's page.

Mentioning he would increase amounts if it stays all snow wvec.png I'd def up it on the coastal when the low gets the wrap around. Peninsula: 2-3 Southside:1-3 with sleet and zr

Coach McGuirk
Jeff staying conservative. Mentioning he would increase amounts if it stays all snow wvec.png Jeff Lawson will probably be horrible. He doesn't understand that everything is frozen right now and it's going to freeze when precip falls due to CAD. Cold Air Damming.
Coach McGuirk
Currently 20/9. If it's not snow it's sleet or freezing rain tomorrow.

navywxman
What is the timeframe for the arrival of snow for Hampton Roads? We will start seeing snow between 1-3pm and last until 10pm-midnight timeframe. A quick mover but enough to cause problems on the highways for the afternoon/evening commute.Sticking with my first guess no reasoning to change: 2-4" peninsula w/1/4" sleet 1-3" southside w/ 1/2" sleet 1" NE NC w/mix of sleet/ frz rain /rain

SEVAsNOwSTORM
New NAM HIRES is colder and showing mostly snow for all of HR. I wouldn't be surprised to see some sleet mixing but think it's going to be mostly snow with the area getting 2-4"

SeanVA
Looks like it is starting to snow pretty good in Blacksburg, VA right now. It's pretty light actually and the flakes are small. Those strong radar returns make me worried that sleet is right around the corner.

VABILLUPS1
Don't blink if you want to see snow this afternoon/evening. It has changed over already in Raleigh so the warming at upper levels is way ahead of what any model had. Looks like there will just be a very quick shot of snow before sleet/ice, at least for southside HR.

Portsmouth Weather
I don't necessarily agree. They expected a quick change over in raleigh. Looking at the latest short term modeling, South side looks safe i would think away from the border

Looking at the latest short term modeling, South side looks safe i would think away from the border It definitely is warmer or moisture is shallower because sleet is mixing in just 10 or so miles from here. They were supposed to stay all snow until the evening
