CNYWeather
Ended up with 5.9". I had to go help my daughter get home last night. She was about 3 miles from home and I can honestlysay I had never been in a snow squall with such a high snow rate. Took 20 minutes to go get her so she could follow me home.Picked up almost 4" last night in just over 90 minutes a 1 point.

LakeEffectKing
still growing support for a moderate snowstorm on Friday. We'll call it snowstorm "Nick" if it pans out, as you've been sniffing up it's skirt since Friday....
OSUmetstud
We'll call it snowstorm "Nick" if it pans out, as you've been sniffing up it's skirt since Friday.... lol thanks. Thursday morning looks pretty interesting on the Euro...BUF has a legit shot at below zero if that verified. Strong high pressure ridging pushing in from the northwest with light to calm winds for several hours and fresh snowcover...coming off of highs in the low teens...and 850s still at -22c. OSUmetstud
LES should end in BUF and the southtowns relatively soon as the westerly surface wind veer takes hold. However, you can see the more traditional LES taking shape on the Cleveland radar with streamers from the SW to NE. That should get here early this evening at some point. Syrmax
2.5" IMBY. So. Oswego cty was crushed....so close. Wondering if same areas get it tonight/Tues. Maybe the wealth gets shared a bit. Synoptic later this week looks like a few inches, maybe 3-6" area wide, more S&E of BGM-ALB, nothing significant.
Revracer800
Lake Effect snow warning now in effect for Oswego County starting tonight into tomorrow night... 1-2ft in most persistent snow bands. BuffaloWeather
damn it's going to be close for BUF... There going to get hit, tell me that radar is not beautiful looking right now!?!?! If you use the WIVB radar that shows environment Canada you can see the orientation of the band over Owen Sound is still SW. Quite a few hours to go with SW/WSW winds it seems! heavy_wx
Nice meso-vortex over Lake Ontario right now. You can see the inbound and outbound rotation in the velocity field of the BUF radar. It also has a nice spiral in the reflectivity.

OSUmetstud
I think the band is going to fall short of BUF...maybe skimming the southtowns for a period of time before shifting off the lake.

It will make it! It will turn into a Meso Low and break away from the main LES. 2-4 inches across the metro! We actually picked up 4.1 inches this morning after doing a better measurement. Pretty impressive. Another 2-3 inches with this band and we will have a nice 6-7 inch event. I told you I had a good feeling about today! =P

I didn't think you'd get all that much this morning...I ended up with 1.5" here.
