Mr. Windcredible!
Hey all...I've been working on setting up my own consulting business, focused on renewable energy analysis. However, since I have a meteorology background and have some experience in the private sector of forecasting, I'd like to offer some forecasting services as well. I've never really had any insight to the business side of the industry...and really don't have a good gauge of prices that companies are charging for their services. Obviously I have a good idea of salary and could come up with a reasonable hourly rate...but I imagine the big guys aren't really charging on an hourly rate. Anyone have a good handle on this type of stuff? What kind of prices are reasonable for the following: -Twice daily forecast -Severe/hazardous weather monitoring (i.e. not routine forecasts, only alerts for a particular hazard) -Phone consults Feel free to respond via PM if you'd prefer not to talk openly on this.
