Good luck with that....

Exactly, you can never rule out some anafrontal precip or another wave on the front. However, Ens say BS, normally everyone would let it go but its snow, so whatever models show it even if it disagrees with its Ensembles than we ride it, weenie gonna ride

speaking of Euro ens, nice to see they backed way way off on your above normal Dec. Maybe sneaky Scooter warm day Monday though but then there is CAD too.

The freezing rain caused serious accidents in NW NJ. Not a pretty morning to be driving around up there. Anyway, I think the wording of "not historic but very active" for mid-December New England snowfall still holds based on what I'm seeing this morning.

Can it last through Xmas or do we break before then? I've been asking this freakin' question for over a month now and I still don't know.

If it breaks before x-mas, it's not going to be a very long period then...

Yeah it would be a brief round of winter if it cuts out before xmas. If the NAO stays more neutral/east-based and the Pacific stays dominate, then I think the warmth wins from xmas onward. This could further be enhanced if the PV retreats toward the NW.

We could go from La Nina-gradient to torch with that equation. Tough call...
