you're going to post a forecast sounding? who cares what it should be doing. Look at obs. Those aren't always right.

Nevermind. I figured out what was wrong with the sounding. There is a really shallow warm layer that it wasn't picking up on. For some reason it didn't have data higher than 950mb.

We're getting our first real accumulating snowfall! Between half an inch and an inch, covering all surfaces besides the road, it is a tad above freezing.

Snow coming down steadily and radar indicates it's picking up in intensity. Looks like it's going to be snowing for awhile too, GFS says we'll get a few inches!

THE RAP HAS 20 INCHES...LIKELY OVERDONE BUT IT`S HINTING

AT THE POTENTIAL FOR SOMETHING SIGNIFICANT. THE PV FEATURE

ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SYSTEM IS IMPRESSIVE AND ITS ORIENTATION

SUGGESTS A LONGER THAN EXPECTED PERIOD OF SNOW TODAY. ALREADY

SEEING EVIDENCE OF A CIRCULATION IN THE REFLECTIVITY ACROSS SW

MN. THIS SHOULD FEATURE SHOULD LIFT NORTH...BECOME ANCHORED

PRODUCE 0.75-1.5" SNOWFALL RATES LATE THIS MORNING AND EARLY THIS

AFTERNOON. INCREASED THE SNOWFALL IN THE TWIN CITIES METRO TO 8-11

INCHES...AND HOPEFULLY THAT IS ENOUGH TO COVER IT

Wow, ended up being a very good storm for MSP. Hey DDL looks like you have at least another 3-5" on top of what you already got. RGEM has you in the jackpot zone, but the NAM/GFS/RAP show that area a hair to the north. If the heaviest totals settle a little further south than what they show you could get at least another 6".

Looks like some "busts" in a positive direction for parts of MN and WI. Very nice.

And good luck to the Toronto folks. Even an inch or two would be good, no?

12z NAM has some mood flakes for LAF tomorrow (has 0.2" actually, but let's not get silly). Would be appreciated.

When I was up in Grayling this past March 2-4th, they had a storm drop a solid foot of dense, wet, heavy snow (which I had a rain gauge for water content ). On top of the 1-2 feet on the ground this created the most beautiful scenes I HAD EVER SEEN. Even the locals said they couldnt remember such a scenic snow.

All that said, in the end, I will still take powder over wet snow.
