I have no idea Wes. I only know what he says when someone posts it here.

I seriously doubt that what he says will determine what happens. I know you feel the same.

I thought you looked at his facepage occasionally, my mistake. I don't pay much attention to him but as Ian noted, it might jump to a snowstorm this time as much as the GFS has been jumping around.

No...he is detailing what the euro is showing...rain here but a big Eastern Ky/Oh snow.....

I take it you're buying this run of the euro Wes?

Who knows, i think a run with the low west of us still makes the most sense but much depends on what happens to the clipper and what impact it has on the trough/vortex near the maritimes. It has had a bigger impact on the GFS than the euro. While I think a inland track makes more sense right now, the mean pattrn shown on the D+8 super ens mean is a pretty good one so it is not a clear as I thought yesterday.

It has to be tough when these things start showing so far in advance like this one did....glad I'm just a weenie and not a forecaster. Hope the shopping was fruitful

I want a storm partly just to see the dual-pol in action. It is pretty cool to see the R/S line south of Madison, WI today.

I swear, everyone with RadarScope or other dual-pol access should go check out the tilt 1 loop of correlation coefficient out of Milwaukee/Sullivan's radar. Sexy as hell. Worth the billion dollar upgrades right there.

snowfall amounts are tough to pin down with these types of events. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see some locations eclipse 20 inches.

All you have to do is look at Blacksburg's new dual-pole for Alleghany, Bath and Highland. Working fine as it is picking up the sleet and snow and rain pretty well from my ground truth observations over the past hour.

I'm supposed to be driving to Morgantown early in the a.m. and returning tomorrow in the late afternoon. Looks like some tough sledding across the plateau.

I don't envy you..that will be tough crossing the tops along I-68. I'm home until the 5th and then back to Houston for two weeks. I hope I get to see the potential storm before I leave.

I'm trying to talk the wife out of it. Our daughter is under the care of a cardio-pulmonary specialist at Ruby Memorial, and the doctor wants to examine her before the doctor leaves for a holiday vacation.

We're gonna discuss it this evening. I have 4-wheel drive, but the weather sure will make a long ride that much longer.

We took our middle daughter there too when she was young...excellent place. I hope everything turns out alright. Be careful driving.
