How many TV mets have a marginal meteo background with geography degrees? This is a message board. Tags are meaningless.

Isn't one a Meteorologist and one a "Weatherman"? It would be nice to be able to distinguish between "usetobe" a pro met, and Ian a "Weatherman". Just using those two as examples. usedtobe
Serious question? How did Ian get a pro met tag? He has zero education in the meteorological sciences. I think his tag says forecaster not meteorologist. He regularly makes forecasts for the Capital Weather Gang and does a good job at it and gets paid for his articles. That meets the definition of pro forecaster.

Bob Chill
red = degreed. pro = getting paid to forecast. I'm not even sure why I'm engaging. I would have laughed pretty hard if DCA said "usedtube"

Look at Bob Turk on WJZ in Baltimore. He has two degrees in Geography and was once a planner. Now, he's WJZ's chief met.
