Definitely a strong signal Shown

Midlo, have you made any snow yet? Planning to make any for Christmas? If we don't get any, I might bug you for some directions so I can bring my son over to see some. In his "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" book there's a girl getting pasted by a snowball and he LOVES to point it out when we get to it!

well, if it doesn't show snow for us, we can always enjoy this fond memory to keep us in a "Mid Atlantic" holiday spirit

I had to drive back down at about 4a from central NJ to beat the storm so I wouldn't get stuck in NJ. Thinking I was coming home to a foot+ of snow from this storm. I missed out on 30" that my parents got in Central NJ. Just brutal.

Shyte the bed? Disagree. Both systems still there and h5 vort still passes south with both systems. Yea, fine details not as nice but it is far from a crap on the pillow.

although I know it will never happen, after the last 2+ years I feel like if a snow storm isn't on every run, it won't happen

18z was likely a blip and 0z is back to reality

it's OK, there comes a point when it stops hurting and I'm past that point so all is good

The window remains open...for now..

And the weird thing is that I wouldn't even be surprised anymore.

You better hope for the best. I might start trolling the LR guys pretty hard if nothing happens during that period. If nothing else it's a shame those thoughts make people irrationally hope for a 18z GFS solution 10 days out. :P

LOL, well you better not troll me as I've been pretty negative throughout for this dec, same with Matt. I'll be writing a medium range article tomorrow or I might have responded to those wearing rosey glasses. To me the 240 GEFS is still a bad one if you like snow. Of course, I've been noted to be wrong.

What can you say at this point? Seems virtually impossible to know what 10 days in the future might bring.

Oh well, we all learned this weekend that there are much more important things than snow. I guess we just need to find other ways to enjoy the weather. I know running today will be much nicer because it's warm.

Sometimes I wonder if always trying to see beyond about 3 days doesn't ruin the whole experience of winter. I guess I can't blame anybody but myself for that one.

I've only been saying all along that there is a window post Xmas. That there is a good chance for a significant storm (of some sort). And there is some colder air than we've seen all season in our neighborhood. I've never said that it's like a classic setup or some sort of lock for snow.

I believe I've done an "ok" job at identifying it and I would appreciate a token crumb of recognition even if we shovel an inch or 2 of water. Lol

6z gfs has a less than optimal vort track so its a rainer. However there's a 1036hp in a decent spot north of ME I would think (regardless of what the model shows) that there is support for a period of snow at the beginning.

If we get any front end snow or the unusual wrap around stuff then I'm going to feel pretty good. If we get all snow then I retire. If nothing happens at all? Hey, I'm just a weenie. Go troll DT.

Need a favor from one of the short range guys. I'm trying to go up to Codorus st park and play disc golf before the rain tomorrow. The park is just over the PA line north of Westminster. Zones and discussions talk about rain not really hitting till 1. That's still kinda early because I won't get playing until 10:30. Really hoping for a 4 hour window or the drive may not be worth it.

Can anyone provide thoughts irt when the more disruptive type of rain is gonna start up that way? I can handle some light rain but even then it's a pain in the ass with wet discs every throw. Any insight would be appreciated. Not sure whether I should chance it or not. It's a 75 minute drive for me.
