Disc
Made it to 60.8 today after a low of 21.8. It was perfect for viewing the meteor shower last night with clear skies and a new moon.
Yorkpa25
These models and this pattern is down right pitiful. Not even worth model watching 2 days before an event, which was evident before previous storms this year already. Winter 2012-2013 looking to be as disgusting as last year. Carry on

It was perfect for viewing the meteor shower last night with clear skies and a new moon. 60.8? Wow, I'm 50-60 miles north and I topped out at 53.8 after a 20.6 low. Still a pretty big temp. spread and the show was good last night!

Fozz
Hey Fozz, I'm sorry you can't take my opinion so you call my post pitiful. It's the truth so far in this short winter and the few storms that have rolled through. So deal with it, good or bad like it or not. I don't go ripping your post or anybody else's post good or bad, on topic or off topic. We all have our own opinions and shouldn't have to deal with somebody name tagging them pitiful because their not agreed with by every member. Good luck to everybody the rest of this winter and Merry Christmas. Declaring this winter "as disgusting as last year", when we're only two weeks into December, is pitiful. Period. And no, nobody owes your opinion any respect when it's backed by nothing other than whiny tantrums.

Good luck to everybody the rest of this winter and Merry Christmas. None of us are thrilled, but Fozz is right. It's pretty early to give up. I think if any of us had been told we could have 8 good weeks of winter, we'd choose late Dec through late Feb. That may happen. Doubtful many would gripe about it then. And I haven't figured out how any of this is the fault of the models.

Bob Chill
We suck at winter. Sometimes I think it would be easier if it simply didn't snow here at all. On the flip side, I do a lot of outdoor stuff so when we have days like this I spend them playing disc golf or hiking with the dog. And I'll be doing both today. Embrace the mild temps! Fozz
I think 09-10 winter spoiled us. Whatever it did to spoil us was quickly undone to most of us by 11-12. Remember, some of us haven't seen a 2" snowfall in our backyards since January 2011.

Yeah, I do sometimes forget that from where the majority of the posters are in the Mid-Atlantic in comparison to where I am is like a world apart sometimes. Feb. 2012 was my last snow and got a good 8-9" out of it.

WxUSAF
So we are on to the next day 12 storm? Pretty much. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we get some "mood" flakes next weekend with the arctic air moving in, but no widespread accumulations of course. That does seem quite consistent on all the models...going to get damn cold next weekend. Euro has -12C 850s for Xmas morning.

Ian
Anything look remotely like post Xmas storm as seen on 276 OP GFS? 240 has moisture moving east across the SW with a cold air mass in place. Hard to say too much about it other than it's not the same setup as the gfs.

Feb. 2012 was my last snow and got a good 8-9" out of it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Yeah, that was my last good one here too. Right at 9 inches. Had to drive to Roanoke airport to catch a flight to Houston that morning, my flight was one of two NOT cancelled that morning so I had to be there at 6 am, then flight delayed until 945 to make a connect in Charlotte at 1110. I remember girl saying 'you've got lots of time", then landing in Charlotte at 1106!
