Lets see what differences occur from 11/30/2012 going forward re snow possibilities for Northern Virginia using the 18z GFS run. Two possibilities are shown; maybe 12/8/2012 and 12/13/2012 with 12/8 looking interesting after the passage of a strong cold front. So let's follow these two dates going forward. It looks like both the NAO and AO will be in negative territory on those two dates.

you also have to watch. The -ao looks legit, but the -nao isnt a west based one, its east based. Its better then nothing, so it will be interesting to see.

The frontal passage on the 8th looks almost identical to what the GFS was showing for the early week cold front at the exact same time frame. It will be interesting to see if it backs off this time like it did last time.
