TimChgo9
I think we all can alienate ourselves from this complaining thread for a long, long while after yesterdays ultimate nightmare for the parents who had their families ripped apart, and for all the children, teachers, etc that were at the school and had to witness or be part of this horrific event. Their lives will never be the same.. It's beyond sad that it took yesterday to finally totally wake me up to just how bad complaining and bickering about weather that I have zero control over makes me look without much caring. You are so right, BowMe. My heart broke at the news from Friday. I can't even fathom the grief, and just the absolute horror that all of those families went through. I might moan about the weather, but, in all reality, it's more of a tongue in cheek type of complaining. I can't control it, and it's going to do what its going to do. TimChgo9
lol wut. Saw a nice show here Wed and Thurs night. Of course you did. We didn't see anything Wed. night, but Thursday was just cloudy enough to make viewing all but the brightest meteors difficult. I bought my kids a decent reflecting telescope for Christimas, so we can do some serious Astronomy type stuff..I think I just guaranteed us a 90% chance of cloudy evenings from now, until Spring... LOL. I have had an interest in stars and outer space since I was about 7 or 8, finally got the chance to buy a decent telescope, can't want to use it. My daughter asked for one, so I thought "why not?" Glad you got to see some. I haven't seen a decent meteor shower in about 20 years, when a date and I spent an evening in a farm field watching one of the meteor showers that occurs during the summer. Perseids, maybe? Anyway, that was a cool display.
SpartyOn
This has got to be one of the worst Decembers I can remember. Looking at another 5-7 day forecast featuring temps in the mid 40s to upper 30s(if lucky). There is no silver lining at all. The extended range and its continued capitulation away from cold solutions is a troubling trend. This is way worse than anything we saw last December. Even with the upcoming warm bomb this totally sucks.

At this point we could be looking at thunderstorms and 60F in our forecast and I wouldn't bat an eye.
SpartyOn
If we had a "normal" or "decent" winter pattern ATM, a good front end thumping would be a good bet. ****ing disaster of a month!
Ottawa Blizzard
This looks to go down as one of the mildest Decembers on record in Toronto. It looks like Environment Canada will nail this winter. Cold in the west, mild in the east. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2011/12/01/weather-forecast-canada.html

michsnowfreak
I'm very confused . I see all these NWS forecasts of heavy snow and blizzard conditions in WI, NW IL, and other areas of the midwest . I seem to recall a week or two ago, anyone who brought up climo or how early in the season it was was labeled an optimist and told it was clear that at the VERY LEAST the rest of December was an imminent snowless torch for those areas (and the rest of the region). It just doesnt make sense?

mnweather
Not really any snow on the ground up here right now. The economy is going to start suffering pretty bad if we dont get any snow. Not a good situation at all in northern MN for the second year in a row.

It rained last weekend too. Businesses will hurt here soon. I know this isn't the snowmobile thread but trails are awful.
