If michnsnowfreak understood the point of this thread, he wouldn't have a single post in here.

no offense msf...you're just too damn positive! :P

He is VERY optimistic. No offense to Josh, but he will maintain hope until about Feb 20th before throwing in the towel.

I have thrown in the towel on SE Michigan for the month of December already.

Oh noes. SWS from LOT for NE IL. Better miss ORD...

...SNOW SHOWERS POSSIBLE MONDAY...

COLD AIR SPREADING ACROSS THE AREA BEHIND A DEVELOPING LOW

PRESSURE SYSTEM MONDAY...COMBINED WITH A PASSING UPPER LEVEL

DISTURBANCE...WILL RESULT IN SCATTERED SNOW FLURRIES AND SNOW

SHOWERS DEVELOPING DURING THE DAY MONDAY. WHILE WIDESPREAD

ACCUMULATING SNOW IS NOT ANTICIPATED...SOME LOCALIZED MINOR

ACCUMULATIONS OF PERHAPS A FEW TENTHS OF AN INCH WILL BE POSSIBLE

WITH THE HEAVIER SNOW SHOWERS. TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER AND

MIDDLE 30S DURING THE DAY SHOULD ALLOW RELATIVELY QUICK MELTING OF

ANY SNOW ACCUMULATIONS.

Here ya go Hoosier, I raise your 10 days to 15 days. Might be a complete December shutout. Tick, tick, tick...

15 days from when that was posted would take us til the 20th. Not ready to go that far yet but I'd say that mood flakes/DAB are the most we can expect til at least the 18th.

Killing this month....

There are prob 2-4 more people ready to toss it also(except josh). Depending on how things go, next monday will offically be towel tossing day.

 I know, I really should just leave this thread. I corrected a lowballed total of ORD's snowfall & was told I dont understand this thread. Its cool though, and my own fault for posting in here, because being negative is the only in-crowd on these boards nowadays (and I know several who left because of it...why do you think we get so few mets in here?). Its not even an equal opportunity complain thread! I got flamed for complaining about complaining, but twisting facts, stats, and exaggerating is fine as long as you remain firmly negative that winter wont come.

The irony of it all is that being realistic about things like the way weather patterns work, past data, climo, and the date on the calendar labels you as optimistic/positive...that I really think no one actually realizes how f***ing p*ssed I am that there is no snow on the ground!

 I am even more realistic than optimistic...98% of this board is very, VERY pessimistic. Last post in this thread btw....it depends what you mean throw in the towel. OUR kind of winter is different from MOST of this board (or so they claim). They want a good snowstorm, and don't care as much for cold, snowcover like you and I. By late January it will be clear if I should "throw in the towel" or not on the kind of winter we like, as I did last year. As for mere snowstorm chances, I dont care what the pattern is, that towel stays folded until April 15th.
