November 27th - 28th Snow Potential

What a weenie model the RAP (RUC) can be beyond like 8 hours. At 18 hour son its latest prog it is so amped. Would probably translate into a decent event. They really should only run it to 12 hours or less.

The only time I ever saw it nail something from 18 hours out when it was different from conventional guidance was the 1/27/11 storm.

There is a rather potent shortwave trough over MX and TX, however models squash this to the south and east over SC and NC as time goes on with little to no impact on our potential storm.

I was reading last year's 1/21/12 thread, your first post ended up being spot on, Ryan gave you a triple bunner for your first post but it ended up the best of all.

I will not spike the ball. It's not a total win if many of us get a few inches of snow, I do think it would be a partial win though since i have stuck with snow from the get go, while many had this going to OTS and a miss. It's not 4-8 but its not 0 either. KURO may end up good but not great on this.

Who said there would be no snow ? You need to get into politics or talk radio lol

there's alot of talk of "what if it ticks north 50 miles"--well what if it ticks south 50 miles? most would be bone dry....

It definitely could tick south 50 miles....though the trend today has been to tick it north just a hair, so its unlikely that would reverse to a 50 mile shift south since models are getting a pretty good look now at this system's features. But who knows with this system. It has not been easy to forecast with the very fast flow and weak vorticity.

Is he the CC dude who used to post on Eastern then went in the service?

Yes I am that dude, I got out due to illness. Weather excites me, so I am going to be a bit weenish, people don't have to listen or read my posts to get the insight they are looking for, I'm just an emotional person who at times lets his excitement get in the way.

We all get a little excited even the pros. Hope you are doing good now. I am slow, just put that together.

Tippy, October 2011 was pretty good for some of us Rte Poopers, lol

Oh, right - forgot about that one. Yeah, I lost power for about 5.5 days in that. I remember telling my buddy like 10 days before that, the last thing i wanted was a foot of snow with leaves on the trees - I don't like losing power, pretty much ever, unless it is planned, like a camping trip.

Sure enough! And what made that personal were too accomplishments by the cosmic dildo: 1, my house literally was the last premises to have power restored in the town of Ayer. Last person that wanted that storm got hit the hardest. 2, the power came back on precisely on the night that failed to fall to like 28F outside, making sure that the entirety of the event was as saturated in the cold as conceivably possible.

The the idiotic disconnect here is that the entire ability to enjoy a given storm, and the reasons why people egg the thing on in the first place are completely gone when the lights go out - well, maybe you get 3 hours on your lap top, but if your wireless router isn't getting any juice, what's the use. people are morons - they egg it on and egg it on and just can't wait for the 3" of accreted ice. only then do these poor fools realize how crazy they must be to hope for that.

Who you gonna call to share in the awe? Where are you going to blog and be part of a wonderment community? What data are you going to pour over and marvel at it all?

That's why I'm happier with a nice nickle and dime type winter, where you get peppered with plenty of events - go for historic snow depth records - that sort of thing. Because it is interesting meteorology that doesn't have to deter from the ability to enjoy it. Give 30, 4-8" snows across 90 days.
