moneypitmike
worst drive ever...it just took me 7 hours to get home from Stowe. I pulled off in WRJ to get gas and noticed my tire was flat. I was like oh fook, threw a spare on and asked a mechanic. He said spare is rated for 50-55mph. Blew all my money so I didn't want to buy a tire that wouldn't match the snows I have on now. Didn't want to drive 20mph slower than traffic on 91 so I took the back way all the way through NH, MA and CT. I'm never driving again. The snow gods were warning you to stay in VT. ORH_wxman
What a disaster the ensembles are....some wrap up a total bomb into the lakes and there's a couple that are even whiffs to the southeast. Not that we expect good agreement at this time range, but this spread is a bit much even for 6 days out.

Man that must've been rough going the back roads...luckily the tire didn't blow out on 89 before you got to White River. That's an oddly big fear of mine for some reason...a tire completely blowing out at speed. Think of it this way, at least you and your gf got home safely. But yes, either way I am happy we're okay. A couple extra hours is worth it. Not before some hillybilly in southern VT made him squeal like a pig. ! moneypitmike
BOX AFD lays it down: TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY...THIS WILL BE THE NEXT PRECIPITATION PRODUCER FOR OUR AREA. AS STATED ABOVE...THE ECMWF DID MAKE A SWITCH IN THE TRACK OF THE LOW. RIGHT NOW BOTH THE GFS AND ECMWF HAVE THE LOW MOVING OVER THE 40/70 BENCHMARK OFF THE COAST. EXPECT THERE WILL CONTINUE TO BE CHANGES IN THE TRACK AND THAT WILL AFFECT OUR WEATHER TO AN EXTENT. THE ONE THING THAT SEEMS FAIRLY CONSISTENT IS THAT WARM AIR WILL WORK ITS WAY INTO SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND MAKING THE BULK OF THE PRECIPITATION RAIN. -- End Changed Discussion --

Typhoon Tip
What was bad about that run? Looked great to me.....as much as a silly op run beyond hr 180 can be. Great looking run! Obviously, thermodynamic details of any system beyond D5 is ludicrous to be upset about - if anyone is ... ....But, sometimes you get the feeling folks just want to be re-assured that their drug (snow) fix is still on the way, so they lead with negativity trying to elicit the appropriate response in keeping with that goal. I like the implication in the extended, with that 50/50 while a block heads west over top - man, that is fraught with potential.

Even if there is warmth in the MLs, a benchmark track would likely be an ice issue in the interior at the minimum I would think.
