Geos
Lake effect looks gone as well. The WRF out of UI-Champaign Urbana is showing a band later today heading into Chicago. I'm a bit skeptical about the strength, but it could be good for at least a festive look for Christmas Eve. Yes, Great pictures Snowfreak! Merry Christmas Everyone! Jonger
1-2 new inches in southern Livingston county at my in-laws. Snow picking up again. Jon
Geos
Starting to see actual snowflakes, which look to be from a little light lake effect. Small band has developed off shore with a few 15 dbz returns. Probably will drift into NE Cook County later.
cyclone77
Ended up picking up 0.3" of snow this evening. Still spitting some flakes out there. Put a nice fresh glint to the snow cover in the lighted areas.

A-L-E-K
heaviest snow of the season 12/25. Meso-low came on shore just south...mod band overhead. Probably getting close to 1/2" EDIT: another good band moving in from mess-low to the north. Flake size clearly being hurt by lack of deep cold but it's still coming down pretty good. A few snapshots of where the band is supposed to be later today. Clouds are increasing here. Hit about 21° this morning. Still in the mid 20s at this hour. Merry Christmas! daddylonglegs
Thanks... Once again, grandma bought way too many gifts for the kids. Noticed a ton of guys out ice fishing this afternoon. They got lucky with this cold weather making a lot of ice quickly. BRF was -9F this morning.

Geos
LES coming down here now. Small flakes, but it's whitening the pavement. I guess I could call today a white Christmas. Right on the edge of criteria threshold though!

turtlehurricane
Been in the teens all day, 16 F now. Apartment holding in the low 70s, I ductaped the windows a week ago and it's been very effective, usually it would be in the low 60s to upper 50s in my apartment when it's so cold out. Got my Chinese leftovers ready for Christmas dinner, going to dress up Cat 1 like a reindeer and then the festivites can begin.
