51 and overcast isn't bad either. I could see a trip to a pond in my immediate future, without the auger!

:axe: I would like to go ice fishing this winter, last winter there was ice for a total of a week and even then only the crazies were on it. Hell I don't think we had more than 3 days in a row where the temp didn't crack the freezing mark.

Record for latest measurable snow at YYZ: December 17, 1998. Almost a lock to break (smash is probably a more accurate term) that record in 2012-13. And no, there's no January 1999 waiting in the wings. The transition of my climate into that of Richmond, VA continues.

You obviously don't know the climate of Richmond then.

I'm with you on moving elsewhere to find more consistent winter. Maybe Edmonton perhaps?

Funny you should mention Edmonton. I've been offered admission to study Law at U of Alberta in 2013-14. Waiting to here from other schools so haven't accepted the offer yet, but it's looking mighty attractive. Not a ton of big snowstorms up there but you can be sure whatever precip. falls from November-April is snow.

QUEBEC CITY!! is the best major city for snowstorms in North America hands down. That would be the place but you have to learn French

If you like Cold Edmonton or Winnipeg for sure. Very long winters

If you want to stay close to home. London,ONT (LES) or Ottawa

Winnipeg's got the duration and the cold but it can also get some decent storms in the Fall and the Spring when the storm track is still towards the north. I'd say Winnipeg > Edmonton in terms of snowfall.

As far as staying close to home goes...anywhere is better than Toronto for snowfall. Even Windsor is better than Toronto, and you'd know that living in SE MI.

Just move here and an hour away from Toronto and receive 150 inches of snow per years, 200+ on good years about 30 minutes south of Buffalo. ^_^

UB Law School is pretty good I hear to.

Yea OK. Windsor Sucks for snow. I bet even the city of Detroit gets 6-7" more a year. Make it simple move up to New Market I have cousin lives there I bet its similar to my place. Gets about 20" more then Detroit. Probably the same there.

Edmonton does not get to many snowfalls of 6"+ I think that area gets a lot 2-4" events and a lot of drys in winter I'm not sure if you would dig that to much. You need action. Like I said go to Quebec or like what Buffalo weather said the south towns of Buffalo.
