Geos
Doppler radar estimate are off! Showing 0.50" + for the airport, but it's more like 0.25" that has come down! Been steady at 42-43° the whole morning.
cyclone77
A few more showers rolled through late this morning/early afternoon bumping the final total up to 0.78". 48 right now, so it's not out of the question we could make 50 for the 3rd day in a row. turtlehurricane
0.4" of rain with a temp gradually rising through the mid 40s. Rain moving out now, cold front still in western Iowa though. Visible signature is impressive.
daddylonglegs
Fog monster back... Picked up around 3/10 tenths here, maybe a little more with some drizzle later in the day. Mild, no wind today...perfect hiking weather. Snow is almost completely gone here...just a few smaller piles in the shade. Even the woods are empty of snow, at least the south/west facing sides. cyclone77
Just shy of 50 today at 49. Now up to 1.24" for the month, which is already more than what we saw all of last month (1.21").

turtlehurricane
0.42" total, cleaned up everything. Sitting in the broad center of the cyclone now, temperature of 44 °F, pressure of 1000 mb, calm winds, and dense fog. Kinda an eerie night. Just started raining a little again. I would like to go ice fishing this winter, last winter there was ice for a total of a week and even then only the crazies were on it. Hell I don't think we had more than 3 days in a row where the temp didn't crack the freezing mark.
IWXwx
Yeah down here in Northern IN, there was about 3 days the whole winter where only the whacks ventured out on the ice.

snowstormcanuck
Record for latest measurable snow at YYZ: December 17, 1998. Almost a lock to break (smash is probably a more accurate term) that record in 2012-13. And no, there's no January 1999 waiting in the wings. The transition of my climate into that of Richmond, VA continues.

snowstormcanuck
You obviously don't know the climate of Richmond then. Exaggerating a bit. But the spirit of the point still stands. snowstormcanuck
I'm with you on moving elsewhere to find more consistent winter. Maybe Edmonton perhaps? Funny you should mention Edmonton. I've been offered admission to study Law at U of Alberta in 2013-14. Waiting to here from other schools so haven't accepted the offer yet, but it's looking mighty attractive. Not a ton of big snowstorms up there but you can be sure whatever precip. falls from November-April is snow.

That would be the place but you have to learn French If you like Cold Edmonton or Winnipeg for sure. Very long winters If you want to stay close to home. London,ONT (LES) or Ottawa Winnipeg's got the duration and the cold but it can also get some decent storms in the Fall and the Spring when the storm track is still towards the north. I'd say Winnipeg > Edmonton in terms of snowfall. As far as staying close to home goes...anywhere is better than Toronto for snowfall. Even Windsor is better than Toronto, and you'd know that living in SE MI.

Just move here and an hour away from Toronto and receive 150 inches of snow per years, 200+ on good years about 30 minutes south of Buffalo. UB Law School is pretty good I hear to. Make it simple move up to New Market I have cousin lives there I bet its similar to my place. Gets about 20" more then Detroit. Probably the same there. Edmonton does not get to many snowfalls of 6"+ I think that area gets a lot 2-4" events and a lot of drys in winter I'm not sure if you would dig that to much. You need action. Like I said go to Quebec or like what Buffalo weather said the south towns of Buffalo.
