Snow no matter how little is the best high on life drug out there. Now its time to work on getting us all a White Christmas. Hope that little warmth that's trying to nuzzle in out in fantasy land goes away though.. Is what it is I guess and pattern changes for the better sometimes have a tendency to get pushed back some for us on the edge. I think you'll have along with most on here a very enjoyable Jan/Feb and more-so the eastern lakes and Parts of the OV when I think the inevitable colder pattern sets in with favorable blocking for those to the south and east.

Your guess is as good as anyone's right now. I'll take a two week stretch like we had here last winter, and be happy. Set the bar low, and hope it overachieves. No matter, would be nice to have some Christmas week snow, for yours, mine, and everyone's psyche. And of course for the bet.

IC you haven't got yourself a CT Blizz or Geos ruler. Could have easily claimed near 4" with one.

Lol.

Nice picture Kab!

You get on the board Bow with accumulation?

I had a mix of rain and snow after 1:30 to sometime in the wee hours of the morning. No accumulation I can see from my camera time lapse video.

Better shot at a dusting tonight it looks like - from this:

Looks like Lake Geneva was the winner at 0.4". http://www.crh.noaa.gov/mkx/climate/sf.php

That Mt. Pleasant snow pic looks wonderful and gives me hope for oncoming storms. As always if this current storm can whiten the ground in the northern plains and lakes to aid that colder air driving southward for future storms I'll be sitting pretty.

Yeah, these stupid warm ups in to the 40s will melt any snow that falls the next couple of days.

The snow I got this morning was pretty much gone by noon. Reminds me a lot of last year...

Off and on lake effect rain showers have finally switched over... Airport reporting light snow at the 5pm observation.

Edit: Just looked out the window and see some light snow falling.

The snow showers are tiny, but hey at least you know now, it's possible to get snow your distance from the lake!

37° and cloudy here. Did see some snizzle earlier!

The airport can finally record a trace of snow for the season lol. Hopefully we see some more snow tomorrow morning.

Interesting that the NAM is hitting a bit of LES for NW Indiana Monday night into Tuesday morning. Funny because the set-up looks awful. Winds at the surface might even be light enough that a Mesolow over the lake becomes dominant instead of any sort of streamer, and there's plenty of directional shear too, even in the low levels.

But still, it dropped 0.08" of liquid on GYY on the 18z run, and per TwisterData it looks like there's a 0.20" contour just barely on land through hour 63 (looking at 24-hour accum precip at that point). The GFS at 18z threw out 0.10" or so as well for GYY (both off the BUFKIT).

I can't believe I'm excited over the potential for 1" of LES, but beggars can't be choosers...amirte?
