Hoosier
ORD actually had 70s with dewpoints in the mid/upper 60s on 12/2/82. Now that is really nuts.

Chicago WX
ORD actually had 70s with dewpoints in the mid/upper 60s on 12/2/82. Now that is really nuts. That's pretty kooky. Been awhile, but looks like LAF is back. Tied with EVV, GEZ, and BMG at 70º at 4:00pm.
SpartyOn
The fog actually made today an interesting weather day.
magoos0728
The overcast is amazing out there. Took in a nice walk here on the eastern side of Kenosha county and the darkness was amazing. Wait a few minutes longer into the walk and the sun peeks--then dark again. Really has been an interesting day so far weather-wise.

Indystorm
It will be fun to look for any possible svr weather reports later this evening. Dec. t storms are a plus in my book even if it isn't thundersnow.

WolfSpider
These storms look to be moving into better CAPE soon, but they still look a little weak. It would be nice to see a thunderstorm later today.

cyclone77
IIRC the 4km NAM/WRF nailed this. Official high at MLI today was 69, or 2 degrees shy of the all-time Dec record. 69 was also the high here.
hawkeye_wx
Mid to upper 60s over here today with no sun. The increased wind today dried out the grass so I was able to do a final mowing.
Entropy
If it wasn't December, I'd be thinking tornados with a temp/dewpoint of 70/60 at Chicago. That type of saturation can support very low LCLs.
andyhb
70/60 is 70/60, it's not going to change depending on the time of year. In fact, I'd think 70/60 in December means more than in some other months because you tend to have stronger kinematics to work with.
dmc76
Today was about as pointless as a day of weather could get. Nothing but Fog and Drizzle all day! actually the Fog intensified as the day went on. Temps were steady at 45 most of the day but the temps has been rising since. Probably close to 60 by now. Mild air in early Dec = BARF
cyclone77
Think we needed just a little more instability today to really get things going. Most of the towers that were going up got pushed over pretty quickly by the strong mid-level winds. Another 500-750j/kg of cape would have made this a pretty decent setup. Geos
Amazing, 29° above normal today! High 67° imby. Hope to get in on those storms west of here...
cyclone77
You guys will probably laugh at this lol. The only reason this is mildly interesting is because it's dec, Shot this outside of town as the line of storms was taking shape. This conglomeration eventually went on to become tornado warned up by Polo. I followed it the northeast for a bit but the main storm pulled away pretty quickly. Should have left sooner. Darkness settled in pretty quickly as well.
