Kind of classic snow SWFE for a lot of New England that run.

Which wave ?

I see a ga-ga range 180 hour open wave going squarely underneath, replete with evolving coma-head snow shield - that doesn't qualify as a SWFE, does it? not sure which system your thinking though

That's the wave I'm talking about...we get a ripping deep layer SW flow from 5h to 7h and then eventually dryslot. It tries to form a CCB, but exits outta here before it really can...eastern Maine catches a bit of that.

Skiing down National on Sunday...mud-sliding down it on Thursday.

It's too bad it may be overcast, because a nice game of hackysack or frisbee football could have been played if it were sunny. No need to tackle or rip the flags off aroud your waist, just tug on the pony-o's and the play is blown dead.

Agreed. The average high for us is still warmer than March 15th. We should be rooting for hackysack weather. Way more useful now than in the colder early March where avg highs are several degrees colder.

On a side note, the ensembles keep going back and forth on building or reducing both the Aleutian ridge and the NAO. In other words, some runs reduce the Aleutian ridge ampltiude and build the -NAO...or vice-versa. Today, it's the Aleutian ridge built up again. It's gotta be some sort of MJO thing getting involved too. Perhaps even related to how East Coast cyclogenesis aids in building heights up br Greenland.

LOL, we used to wear those flags around our waste in gym class and if you ripped the flag off, the belt would come unlatched and that was the end of the play. Flag football more or less. Just picture heads being whipped back from pony-o tugs.

 Hilarious. A few of the pony's actually get ripped right from the scalp. They go from short on top party in the back to short on top, scalped in the back

We played that as well in grammer school, Only had to get one flag, They were attached to the belt, We had guys that wrapped them around the belt once so you could not get it off.................lol, I thought you had seen the play Sunday in the cowboys game where a Cowby defender hauled down the Brown's punt returner by the hair which is legal but got a PF 15yd penalty for a horse collar

That is a worry ill be honest. If Euro goes from snow bomb it had at 00z to chairlift genocide then it will be time to really worry

Or just don't pay attention to OP runs past 144 hours. Ensembles are all over the place with this system. We won't know much for another couple days.

I have to admit the bolded part made me lol, though.
