NAO negative but not obscenely so. Strongly negative EPO is the key IMO to bitterly cold air in the United States. The complete cutting off of the Pacific jet and cross-polar flow connection from Siberia to Canada brings the goods most of the time.

Yeah the monster -EPO and -AO delivered the goods into NAOM. The ridging over western Canada/U.S. locked in the +PNA and kept the trough in place over eastern U.S.

Have to remember Thanksgiving is very early this year..the last time I remember Thanksgiving on the 22nd was 1973,,it was 70 degrees..also the day Kennedy died in 63,,it was in the low 60's

JFK was not assasinated on Thanksgiving Day. It was a regular school day...I was in 11th grade.

All snow in December, yes climo favors a mix, you should study up on climo of sne............really upset your cloudy low 40s turkey day did not work out:(

I would have to disagree. Since 2000 bdr has seen a good amount of all snow events in december...climo of recent has offer great december snows all the way to coast...having a all snow event in the next 4-6 weeks is really not hard to do.

8 inches of snow on the beaches in early november will be far less likely, then having a snowstorm in the middle of december

Getting all snow events on the sw ct coas in December is not easy, history and climo would argue that a mix if not rain is more likely than all snow in my locale.

The average high at BDR in December is 42.3 degrees, its not even close, sure it snows here in December sometimes often however, climo argues that its easier to get rain or a mix than an all snow event here in December, maybe Ryan can chime in but its really not even close.

You make it seem alot harder then it really is...avg snowfall at bdr is 5.6 for december. Since 2000 most of bdr major snowfalls have been in december...i feel basing ur argument on a avg mean temp is laughable

What exactly are you arguing? Are you telling me that my location is more likely to have an all snow event then a mix or rain event in December If you are, because that was my only point, your flat out wrong.

Your avg at bdr in january is 7.9 and mean temp 37.1...mean temp should tell you nothing about snowfall during a month..to me ur case needs more support

Lol your obviously trolling., or you have no idea what my original point was. It was pretty simple based on climo, my location is much more likely to have rain or a mixed precip event than all snow. It's pretty simple.

You are saying climo argues against a all snow event in sw ct in the next 4-6 weeks... i feel climo does not..since 2000 it has been a very common event...please follow along...a mean temp does not back ur point

You always cry trolling when a discussion does not go ur way...ur original post of 4-6 weeks/climo was just to get peoples panties in a bunch

I feel like I am in a Twilight Zone episode........sw coastal ct is now more likely to have an all snow event in December than a mixed or rain event....who would have thunk it?

Now here you go twisting peoples words, so you can fool urself in thinking ur correct...i never said likely, i stated since 2000 climo has not argued against it...

No you disagreed with my statement that my area was more likely to see rain or a mixed event in December than an all snow event.
