Absolutely, at least through mid month or so. There are a few signs it may relax after mid month, but lets face it...that is far out and doesn't mean a reversal or anything. I'd like to see the ENSO areas warm up a bit more to help promote the MJO propagation and overall forcing of a ridge near Aleutians/AK. I'm also not sure how the stratosphere will behave. If it doesn't get severely disrupted..then it's going to want to keep the vortex in tact. If it splits and gets disrupted, it would help warm it up and break it down allowing for better blocking potential. It's seems like things are almost 50/50 on that, but it is early too. We may have a better idea in a couple of weeks. In the mean time, December could be a very interesting month and things are night and day from last year.

I only bring up that 27th or 28th deal because it is possibly based on the guidance and overall pattern. It very well may be something cooler...but just don't be shocked that's all.

I'm skeptical on any storm potential for us through the rest of the month..while I think there will be a storm off the coast around Thanksgiving I don't believe it would have any impact on us as it will be well offshore, however, I think that system will in fact begin to change the pattern and lead to the development of blocking.

The one thing with November and even most of December is they are still transition periods...so if we're seeing signals for blocking chances are we will get periods of blocking to occur.

With this I think we'll see a pretty decent winter, some periods will probably suck though but those periods that suck could just be transition periods towards a better pattern...even all the big winters had sucky periods but those periods were transition periods.

Complicated

He said I technically could but it still hurts to walk so I don't want to

When I broke my ankle my junior year of high school, the day after I got my cast off I played kickball in gym...I kicked the ball and went down like a sack of potatoes...that hurt worse than when I broke my ankle.

The week before Christmas in French class my friend gave me an ankle lock in the computer lab and ended up breaking my ankle...I walked on it for 3 days and after that I had to go to the hospital and that's when I was told it was broken. I still asked to play games in gym but the teacher wouldn't let me. When he was off for a few days he had to leave a note for the sub to NOT let me do games...I was pissed.

But when I got my cast off and I played kick ball and kicked the ball it hurt so much.

You broke your ankle in French class? Wow

Yup...it was in the computer lap...my friend gave me the Angle lock but did it too hard and it snapped my ankle...it popped 3 times really loudly...people across the room heard it. Whenever I would step on it my ankle made this crunching sound.

My daughter kept asking when it was going to snow... when I shared the forecast with her and told her not for a while she asked me to make some (apparently even at 3.5 she remembers quite a bit from being 2.5....), so this am I fired up the pressure washer and air compressor after dragging the dusty snow gun out of the shed. I really need to remount the nozzles one of these days (it is all home-brew anyway, except the nozzles themselves), BUT it worked well and we had fun tossing a few snowballs and skiing a bit today. As long as the ground freezes a bit before the real stuff comes I'm happy.

I wonder how much time and water it would take to cover an acre with 1 foot?

Very well may happen soon.

My 6" depth is down to 40F. Last year on this day it was 46-48F and it didn't reach 40F last year until 12/2. It may not seem like much, but as I'm sure you know, it doesn't experience much range on a diurnal basis. It'll probably fall to 38-39F by sunrise after the cold night tonight.

Just looking at things for the first time today. Nice to see the low spinning off the coast--hopefully that'll mute any mildness on Thanksgiving. And, things looking decent further down the road. Things looking up.

Meanwhile, bought my wife a car today; the clock now begins to tick toward June when I get mine.

lucky for us too, just heard on the radio NYC lost over 10000 tree's and NJ 131000 our coasts in CT RI had similar winds but lost much less, this fall saved us. Brian hope you get some snow before deep frost sets in
