HoarfrostHubb
I've had more frosts over the last 4-5 mornings than I've had combined since I've lived in this house the last 7+ yrs. Odd. Maybe this is the first normal cold, wintry type fall we've had in that time You had only 5 frosts before this year? Strange indeed

Damage In Tolland
You had only 5 frosts before this year? Strange indeed it's just very rare to get frost on the hilltops..Usually doesn't happen with the winds Nw a place like S Bos where it's an urban heat island and blacktop or a torch with a wind off the brutal ocean..I could see but not in the rural hills of NE CT

CoastalWx
So no? Ensembles rarely have huge 12 or 24 hr shifts in the long range. They are usually gradual. Still shows an Aleutian ridge, GOA trough, and a -NAO. Out of those 3 factors...2 are favorable. The GOA low is not, but hopefully the other two can try to overwhelm that. I think that it's also important to note that we are in early December at this point....climo could still use a couple of weeks of cooling...but we'll take what we can get. I think if this pattern were later in the month, we'd all be money in the bank.
