Kevin Druff
This is my favorite day since moving back to Virginia: 1/30/2010... it was COLD... sub 20* and snowed all day... really came down for a while there. This one is my second favorite as it ended a 3+ year true snow drought here in Richmond. We had small events (<1", if that), but nothing even thought-worthy, let alone note worthy. It's also the first picture I have of the house when I actually owned it. We closed not even 48 hours before this picture was taken: 3/1/

Deck Pic
since everyone is posting 09-10, here is another great storm....1/17/08!! (2.5") This was in 2008 but I can't remember the storm. Getting old. It pretty much has to be January 17th, 2008....heavy snow during the day at around 32-33 degrees...changed to rain...you probably got around 2" as it was a north and west event.... gymengineer
January 27, 2009 Snow looks so much prettier when the pavement is cold. That's a great picture and shows how well just 1.5-2" of snow can cover everything.

Bob Chill
Had to post one from my CO days. This was taken from my bedroom window in mid Jan 96. Biggest month during the 7 years I lived there. 150" for the month. I lived @ 10,500' on Buffalo Mtn about 15 miles from Keystone and Breckenridge ski area. No digital cams back then everything was old school and this is a scan. That's why it looks weird.
Scarlet Pimpernel
Here's a few. I don't have much of anything before 2007 (or ones that weren't quite as interesting), at least not digital images. I have some film photos of Feb. 2003, but have to dig those up and maybe scan them. Feb. 25, 2007 (~5.0" snow, Capitol Hill neighborhood, Washington, DC. Great moderate event, right near freezing, snow covered everything.): Mar. 2, 2009 (~6.0" snow, Capitol Hill neighborhood, Washington, DC.) Feb. 6, 2010 (23.5" snow, Silver Spring, MD. Where's my car??? ): Feb. 10, 2010 (12.0" snow, Silver Spring, MD. Perhaps my favorite photo from the 2009-10 winter, to me this just epitomizes the blizzard conditions from this event, and the winter as a whole.): Jan. 26, 2011 (8.0" snow, Silver Spring, MD. Commutageddon! And, no power for 2 days.):

nj2va
1/8/10 Was that the storm that kept trending north the day or two before the storm? Or was that towards the end of January? I remember getting about 6 or 7" of really light powdery stuff from the storm.

Ian
This thread made me finally start archiving (which includes deleting "extras", so going through them all) the last three years of photos and re-organizing 10 years of DSLR photos. I think my pre-DSLR digitals are lost sadly. Anyway.. snow is fun.

I think my pre-DSLR digitals are lost sadly. Anyway.. snow is fun. Agree. I should have thought of this before but, now I am going to start making snowstorm videos. Will take 30second or so videos each hour of the storm add in radar grabs every hour, and have pre storm model images. Should make for a cool storm timeline.
