Ralph....why do folks get fooled by runs of the GFS at this distance? This will be a very wintery week my friend - relax and enjoy!

Paul

Have a hunch we just lost both systems here around PHL. Maybe some front end stuff from either system. Can't believe how far North the first system has trended with the precip....dang near dry slots us. Thanks for letting me vent.

Tom,

I find it hard to believe we will not have some very wintry weather this week. Storms can only cut so much in this pattern and I think models will struggle right up till 24 hours before. Get your blower and ice melt ready! You will need it this week at your new place!!

Paul

He's talking phl and burbs, and i agree.. their has been what 1-2 runs of an off run of the gfs that showed philly getting anything worthwhile.

$20 says both storms bust for PHI CWA, with the exception of Carbon/Monroe/Sussex counties.

Down in the Philly burbs for Christmas.

Not going back up north until the end of next week unless there is a call for 6 inches or more imby with this storm.

At this point, it looks like I am staying in the burbs though next Friday.

Hoping JB or DT tweets the models are wrong to make me laugh.

I'll just say if even one variable is off this week, and right now that seems to come down to how the first storm sets up the second, we get zilch on the coastal plain. We all know how winter works around these parts by now. December is typically a low output month. If the cold ever gets established after the new year, I'll look for chances then--we just have to hope the stormy pattern continues at the same time. Then again don't be surprised if the models back off on the cold by the end of the week or earlier.

im at the point now where i wish the worse for both storms just to see people just go A wall over a weather system. It's good comedy relief on a boring saturday night.

you already see it all over the place. (sans this forum).

Honestly, i can see why though. After the latter part of winter 11', last winter all together, people are getting desperate. Then, throwing this at them is like putting false hope in their heads.

i'm heading out though. haha. It sucks, but hey, it ain't the end the world.

But seriously...the 2nd storm was never a i95 hit...north and west was a different story, with mainly ice. The christmas wave is not off the table yet. Till the euro and its ens cave, its still good in my eyes.

Tom

Strongly agree I still see a White Christmas as a possibility - I really think 18z was the warm bookend while last night was the cold bookend - the thruth will likely be in the middle. Either way you slice it I see a very interesting pattern for the foreseeable future. Should be fun to track!
