stormspotterlive
Hour 192 of the euro model has gone off it's rocker with another Miller B coastal type threat almost 3 inches of qpf.
famartin
Hour 192 of the euro model has gone off it's rocker with another Miller B coastal type threat almost 3 inches of qpf. Its depiction reminds me of 3/31/1997 except shifted a bit further SW... where BOS was in that one, NYC might be, and where NYC was, PHL might be. famartin
Just looked at the 500mb for that storm...i definitely see the similarities...How did Phl/Nyc/Ne fair for that one? There was wide variation... KNYC officially had a Trace, though KJFK had 1.5" and KEWR had 2.8"... KPHL had 3.9"... however I had 8.8" at KTTN and parts of Chester had over a foot. Parts of the Pocs had over 2 feet but only 4.1" officially fell at KABE. And KBOS? They had 25.4"

RedSky
Not going to say a word about how the gfs has moderated next weekends/early xmas week cold wave... but it could be a good thing vs a suppressive pattern that would crush everything off the south carolina coast. This is true, we don't want the trough to be so deep that the storm track gets crushed well south of us.

Heisy
I'm absolutely in LOVE with what I'm seeing in the long range...Looks pretty certain that the cold front associated with the ULL next weekend will keep us cold through end of DEC. The look on the 240 hr EURO is amazing. Still far out of course, but I feel the best I've felt about a time period in what feels like forever. famartin
Point being, signs don't guarantee that cold will just stay. GFS shows another cutter.
