weatherwiz
As we move towards and through the weekend a deepening trough across the eastern Pacific/western United States will pump up a ridge across the central/eastern United States allowing for unseasonably warm up to work up the coast. A storm system (trough) working into the west will eventually begin to break down the ridge as it moves eastward as a strong Arctic front will plow thorough the United States bringing in a much colder airmass. Out ahead of this trough the airmass will become unseasonably warm and moist as some long-range models indicate temperatures well into the 60's (and 70's for mid-Atlantic) with dewpoints ranging from the 50's to even lower 60's. Temperatures in the mid-levels will be quite cold and with a warm/moist llvl airmass this could actually yield to some decent instability values (for this time of year)!!! Anyways with yet another strong system we'd be looking at some hefty dynamics aloft and with strong forcing/lift the potential for at least a forced low-topped line will certainly be there. Can't wait to see how this plays out over the course of the next week!

weatherwiz
Wasn't what you were hoping for but actually we had a strong storm last night. Very windy with heavy rain. I know the thread title said severe but all in all this was modeled quite well from the time I made this. Obviously I wasn't thinking or expecting severe but the line was quite decent...could have been more interesting if it occurred during the day.
