The only thing better than a 3' blizzard is the birth of your first child, trust me i have experienced both. Enjoy it will be the happiest day of your life, the diaper changing and screaming at 3 a.m. sucks but it is all worth it.

I won't derail a wx thread anymore, but thank you...I am pumped.

Paternity leave ftw. When my daughter was born I took 7 weeks. I can accumulate sick days and even with that for family leave 13 years ago, I still have 220 days in the bank. Since I'm working old Iau need them....lol. In truth I have used maybe 10 in the past 28 years outside of when my daughter was born.

Big winter incoming!

It should be a law. This is a ton of work and it's almost discriminating that even 2 weeks aren't given to Dads.

If there are more than 50 employees, they have to allow 3 months but the catch is it doesn't have to be paid. That's federal law. For me, it's the balance of my sick leave up to 3 months.

Most companies in my area give 4 weeks paternity leave.

My paternity leave was a few days, don't remember the exact number and boss seemed to think that was very generous. Penny wise, pound foolish like so many other things at that place. It was one of the factors that caused me and several co-workers to leave for a competitor.

I got 1 day when both my daughters were born at my first job, anything more than 3 days for a dude us unheard of. Congrats Scooter

Our country has the wrong values in some area. When I was young having kids, I took 1 day off for my first and 1/2 day for his brother.

Family medical leave is great but unpaid it's kind of worthless for someone in their 30s.

Speaking of 30s, looking forward to walking home.
