Baroclinic Zone
Is anyone on their phones having an issue with the board where you can't quote a reply from another poster? I wonder if they tweaked something on the board due to storm mode yesterday or something! Test

CoastalWx
Wow RUC nailed it. I was a little skeptical, but successive runs and eventually the NAM had it. It literally was a 20 mile wide band.

It literally was a 20 mile wide band. Such an odd event to forecast. Good early season case study. Looked like we had a good antecedent airmass with the low dews that helped a lot. Mr Torchey
I just measured 8 inches on the deck table, but lots melted yesterday afternoon when the snow intensity backed off, and also compaction. Regardless, and incredible event here on the beach, just inland must have well over a foot. Incredible!!!
tamarack
Only a few flakes coming down now, had 2.4" with 0.22" LE, and quite moist for 11:1 snow. Probably less than an inch around Bigelow where we'll be in day 4 of our forest certification audit. Lots better than the 35F rainstorm at last year's audit. Mr Torchey
3 inches of fluff on the deck this morning, I must have missed a nice show after I went to bed around 1030, radar looked great!

Sey-Mour Snow
Havent gone outside. Based on radar and looking outside we easily have over a foot. I shoveled at 9" last night several hours of snow after that.

Looked like we had a good antecedent airmass with the low dews that helped a lot. Yeah it was. A shift east and then intense banding. The banding was modeled, but it wasn't modeled to give us the snow many got here. I saved a bunch of images. Congrats to those that got it. CoastalWx
How much did you get? Looks like 0.7" total, but it is raining now. 4-6" just inland to my southwest. Even Jerry got 4" or so it seems, and I can throw a rock to his house.
MainePhotog
2.0" here on the fringe 3.1" here on the midcoast. Drive to work was fun though. Counted 12 vehicles in ditches at various places on I-295 and I-95. Two accidents happened in front of me. Flying sdown passing lane and they lost it. 47 mile one way drive to work took 1.5 hours. Folks act like it's first snow they ever drove in.

CapturedNature
Still snowing nicely. 9 inches My office in North Haven got 12 inches from a spotter at 1:45 AM so likely more I had 7.7" up here. Nice little over performer! Board and ground now pretty much even, FTL.

By 7, I had 2 inches, by 10:30, 3-4. But the amazing thing was the fact that plows were out and all major streets were snow covered...on 11/7! Awesome Jerry signs on an over performer winter, remember our NCT Nov 2010 snow on 11/8. Wow at the office , just a trace or so here in SECT, winds are ripping again gusting to 37. Had a gust on the Davis here to 46 which is very impressive inland. Drove through a great sleet squall last gasp it seems.

Now that the election weenie season is over and the wx pattern is quieting, and the fact that we have a long weekend coming, I may be able to cobble together a credible winter forecast. I'm bullish. Mr Torchey
Just incredible, about half of what stuck on the grass and decks, cars etc stuck to the roads but still not a single plow or sander. Snow is super heavy and melting from the ground up..........not going to bother shoveling the driveway this stuff will be gone by 3 pm. Tons of pics saved and memories to pass along. Winter wonderland!..........now back to the beach.
