HoarfrostHubb
Best storm of the season here? Maybe. That is simply superb!
HIPPYVALLEY
Classic Ct valley downslope on Ene winds Except winds are due north. The dry air is advecting like crazy down the valley. It's not downsloping, however. Thank you! Degree in Meteorology FTW.
CT Rain
Winds are ouyt of 030 here and 010 at BAF...there might be some downslope component to it...but the dry air is probably the main culprit. 10 at BAF is a negligible downslope component. It's more the mid teens dew points up in S VT that is rocketing down the Valley.
mattb65
New BOX map - has the 4-6" tickling MBY... crazy http://www.erh.noaa.gov/box/StormTotalSnow/index.php

Yes...020 at CEF though as well...they really need a due north wind there. They suffer more heavily than a place like HFD even with a slight E component. Downslope dries the air too and warms it up...I think both are having an affect, but I agree the drain of lower dews is the majority of the issue there. HIPPYVALLEY
Weird, I am now back down 2 degrees past half hour. Thats a pretty good swing back and forth the past 90 minutes from 29 to 33.5 and now 30.5 30.5/
OceanStWx
Parents are reporting the flip to snow in Barrington, RI. Sure looked like it as that heavier lift helped suck the coastal front SE. CC would suggest still some melting possibly working in aloft again, so wouldn't be surprised to see it RASN for a bit.
ORH_wxman
What's the record? I think they had like 15 or 18" in the Nov 1898 storm.
NECT
So after the dryslot lifts through eastern CT, do we look for backside precip?

ORH_wxman
Lol, nevermind 15-18"...the Kocin book shows BDR had 24" in the Nov 26-27, 1898 storm. Good grief.
ChrisM
nevermind what's going on dry air to the NW of here, I'm worried about the dryslot coming from the SE...will it get here Will or will that slow as the storm moves NE?

CapturedNature
Yeah you're good up there. Give it about 30 mins. How much do you have OTG? Just came in from my latest measurement: 4.0" on the board and about 6" on the grass. Snow is starting to pick-up again. With the wind it feels pretty good out there. Venge97RI
Hey all , Kind of a noob here , I'm up here in Shirley, MA ( just east of Leominster) . and it looks like the Dry air is winning out here. is it gonna pick up or we kind of screwed? I wonder of Kevin's death band from hell can merge east. The storm looks like its trying to make one last nudge north before drifitng E...we'll see how much it can help. Gonna be a battle because that air to the north means business. But radar is looking encouraging for your area....the RUC so far looks good with the ORH-TOL band...but it needs to rot for a few hours to verify. Mr Torchey
Just a splendid night, not bad for 10 feet above sea level on November 7, bdr has a good chance to break the record, the fact they have measured 4 inches on the sand bar is a freaking miracle to begin with.
