Ginx snewx
Hopefully moneypitmike is not hanging in his barn. I'd expect the snow to start coming down there any time now. Pete said it starting ripping and accumulating a little while ago, MPM will get his shawl white soon.
wxmanmitch
Heavier reflectivities are about 1 or 2 miles to my SE, but it is running into considerable resistance due to the dry air. You can see the hills to my SE are becoming obscured some, while the hills to my west are clear. Definitely the proverbial snow curtain phenomenon going on around here. ChrisM
Really nice band now in the area that was sucking on CF exhaust a little while ago. When do you expect this to all wind down? 11? 12?

ORH_wxman
When do you expect this to all wind down? 11? 12? Eastern areas could see it go on all night...though the intensity will probably drop a bit. But yeah, western areas should wind down a bit after midnight. nutmegfriar
I left Stamford, CT at about 12:30 pm and it was snowing hard. Temp was 33F. By the time I got to Stratford, the temp was 31F and it was really coming down and accumulating. Snow on the ground all the way to Branford. By Madison, it was 35F and rain. It switched to snow in Old Lyme about 45 minutes ago. Moderate snow right now. Very nice surprise.

CoastalWx
Winds are now more north and temp is 37, but the lower level below 950 is too mild. Gonna have to drain colder air in the lower 1500ft.

moneypitmike
Any flakes up in the hills yet Mike? Nary a flake yet, Chris. How about in Greenfield? My wife told me it started in Amherst about an hour ago(?), and she also said that GCC canceled classes this evening. A bit extreme?
