ict1523
I am in shock. Just got home from work. Trees on the Grand Central are just collapsing under the weight of the snow. Many of them still have some leaves. You couldn't drive in the right lane due to all the branches in the way. Lights are flickering. Hopefully don't lose power. My strongest concern yesterday would be the trees yet again. There are still tons of leaves on the trees in NJ.. Heavy wet snow + 40mph gusts is not a good combo. And whats worse is areas are getting wayyy more snow than i expected..

winterwx21
Looked like that band was over there way a bit more than here. Doesn't Scotch Plains always get the most? Seems like every winter, every storm Earthlight gets the most snow in this area. He's always 2 or 3 inches higher than what I get in these storms. Anyway I was just outside, and measured 4.5 inches. Awesome early season storm.

I already had to drag four very heavy branches from the street to my yard not too long ago. It's getting bad. It's almost like Connecticut during last October. Well not quite to that extreme, of course. But kind of similar.

Dsnowx53
There appears to be potential for 2 localized bands to setup...one already doing so in N-C NJ and another somewhere from Queens-central LI soon...looks like NYC/Bronx/eastern NJ may get in between them both. Yup, this definitely seems to be the case. The radar is really lighting up on LI and the Sound. I wonder how far west this band is going to go before it stalls. I wonder how far west this band is going to go before it stalls. The band over NJ now showing movement to the SE...we'll probably get that usual stubborn area of snow from the city east across LI we always seem to get at the end of these storms...wouldn't be surprised if at 6-7am some areas are still snowing. That reminds me very much of 12/26/10. We were snowing for a lot longer than Union County was, but didn't get nearly the same snow amounts. We still did very well, though, of course.
