Dosh
40 dbz returns on KDIX Level 2 radar. I like Newark's though. Its beam passes only a few hundred feet above us compared to KDIX's 3,000.
Zir0b
-3c 850 temps over the deformation band right now...amazing map for the first week of November
Alpha5
-3c 850 temps over the deformation band right now...amazing map for the first week of November Yeah thats just nuts. Storm interestingly is a bit to the W of the normal benchmark at 40 70, probably better in terms of deform formation considering the western precip shield was stunted significantly. patrick05
gotta say if those bands offshore keep on staying robust they could really ramp up the snowfall on the island very soon. waiting to see what it does. But the radar looks empty in here, where will it come from??

I never thought I would go up to lake effect country only to want to be back home for weather related reasons. Oh well...we'll get ours soon and there is always winter break too. Guest Pamela
I'm in that lull in western Suffolk... Wondering if these bands consolidate.. The precip has done a wonderful job of avoiding Suffolk County the last few hours...
earthlight
Have a little over 7" in Scotch Plains. Same deal here. Maybe a bit less than that. Felt a few pellets out there mixing in with the snow.
BxEngine
definite uptick in winds the last 1/2 hour as well. Had a gust to 37 about 20 minutes ago.
Metsfan
Band over eastern LI looks like it is losing steam as it heads west. http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/new-york-city-ny/weather-radar-r1h?play=
Dosh
Same deal here. Maybe a bit less than that. Felt a few pellets out there mixing in with the snow. Yep, hearing them on my window. Seems like the cold air blast is finally giving away to the fact that its still a week into November and we didn't deserve this much snow.
dbc
most of those are still from 10 days ago In Cliffside Park, Edgewater, Fort Lee, North Bergen, Fairview and Ridgefield I am confident that all of those are not new outages as those statuses were just the same as they were this morning. Absolute Humidity
That norlun trough is just ridiculous sitting over the ocean locking the banding in place. Never ever saw anything like this in these parts before.
wolfsheepsheadbay
I really am just stunned right now. Never expected this...even at 4PM, or so, when we just barely had a dusting on the ground. Now approaching 7.5".
Guest Pamela
The precip has done a wonderful job of avoiding Suffolk County the last few hours... Something is falling out of the sky now but the snow growth is very poor...or maybe it's just sleet! lol
