powderfreak
BGM? gFS has moving pretty slow, strong winds on the coast. Using IPad or IPhone or BB so my grammar may suck. Crushes Albany and Binghamton's warning areas pretty hard before going to drizzle.
CT Rain
Crushes Albany and Binghamton's warning areas pretty hard before going to drizzle. The whole thing is just tucked too far inland. It wraps in a lot of warm air.

SlantStickers Anonymous
I doubt I'll see any snow here, but hey maybe I'll get lucky and lose power this time! lol
weatherMA
I'm partially glad that this storm will probably be rain. I have a few major tests this week and even a 3-6" snowstorm is a major distraction lol. I'll take the rain for now...although if it trends to snow I won't be mad. HoarfrostHubb
I know I don't have the best maps out there but I'm only limited as far as my resources go and try to do the best with what I have available to me. I also spend a great deal of time with how I want to make them and get frustrated with how they look so I usually do several do-overs and get pissed off. Your maps are fine. Sam's are my favorite, though.
CoastalWx
This is impressive. -5 to -6 LIs that line up next to the comma head. That probably means elevated convection in the comma head.
nzucker
Scott, how much of a danger is this storm in terms of recovery efforts from Sandy, specifically around the NYC area?
CoastalWx
Scott, how much of a danger is this storm in terms of recovery efforts from Sandy, specifically around the NYC area? Depends on how it tracks Nate. If it curls into the area south of LI, it could be a big problem. However, a BM track means winds mostly stay north and that will limit water rise obviously. However, a BM track means winds mostly stay north and that will limit water rise obviously. 925mb winds do get up around 70 knots on the 18z GFS for the NYC metro, however, which could spell trouble if we have crews still trying to restore power. The infrastructure is very vulnerable right now, as we still have trees and utility poles that are leaning, some power lines appear to have been tacked back up quickly, and gas/food are in short supply. Definitely not the time for a large-scale Nor'easter. The GGEM was very aggressive with a 968mb low and the GFS seems to be settling in around 980mb. With a fairly strong high over eastern Canada, it could get quite windy.

Ginx snewx
Scott, how much of a danger is this storm in terms of recovery efforts from Sandy, specifically around the NYC area? NWS Box calling for 19 ft seas. Let's not forget bad weather stops electrical restoration. This storm is the last thing the coast needs.
