dendrite
Well they can take down the ridiculous HWW now..There might not be any wind at all lol. Calm conditions It still looks windy for the coast, cape, and islands. Atleast PF can make snow with this.

moneypitmike
The BOX forecast (haven't read the AFD) isn't buying a particularly cold/east solution as they maintain precip in GC including rain. Imagine that trends warmer in their progs to the east. I'll reserve excitement until 12z.
CoastalWx
Even on the 06z it's a disorganized mess. But, the ensembles are pretty close. This is highly unusual to see such a disorganized mess with a low that close.

Does anyone have leaves still??????T
HoarfrostHubb
Meh... forky said the snow is the least interesting aspect of this storm
CoastalWx
The problem with this storm, is that it will have a band of good precip with it and it may end up somewhere in central MA give or take. However, it is impossible to figure out where. So while it may not come in like an organized CCB, I think it is possible a narrow area could do "fairly" well. I've been waiting since last march to hear that term, just wasn't sure if it would be you or Ryan that used it first. lol
CoastalWx
When does the snow break out tomorrow? Afternoon or evening rush? Probably by nightfall or so. Hopefully we can get more specific today, these s/w's are causing a modeling disaster.
ChrisM
so Scooter, you thinking the "jackpot" gets 2"?
CoastalWx
so Scooter, you thinking the "jackpot" gets 2"? I think 1-3 should cover it for now. Maybe most get 1-2. This just smells like it has a few tricks up its sleeve. I could see a narrow area that gets more..maybe in central or wrn MA/CT. Obviously a shift east or west in the 12z guidance will shift this snow area west or east.

CoastalWx
There may be an area greater than 3" as we stated, but that will probably be in a narrow area. Gonna have to wait and see if there is anything to the 06z GFS, come 12z.

Tropopause_Fold
Meanwhile Phil and the coast get blasted with winds. yeah i was satisfied with how it looked yesterday...but today's even better with the low further east. as the LLJ wraps around the system, this area stays under like 18 hours of >45 knot wind just off the deck...with good mixing throughout. some of the soundings suggest 60 to 70 mph gusts at times. we'll see how modeling evolves today. Logan11
Maybe in NJ. There may be an area greater than 3" as we stated, but that will probably be in a narrow area.
