vortex
Is that your 1.5"/hour report from earlier? nope. just got home from work and saw the lightning flash as I was driving. I'd guess closer to 2 inches now.

tuanis
High-end light / Low-end moderate here. I am 10 blocks from Alek and it's been a steady moderate snow for the past 20 minutes at least. Flake size is fine, hasn't been pixie dust since my commute home. Bring on the heavy stuff (and throw in some lightning if you're feeling extra generous!) TheWeatherPimp
You would think IND would have went ahead and started their WWA now instead of 1 AM with the problems being reported on roadways and some areas already picking up a quick 1-2 inches of snow. Looking at the near term update, it seems that's probably what may happen.. .NEAR TERM /REST OF TONIGHT/... BAND OF SNOW WORKING ITS WAY SLOWLY ACROSS CENTRAL INDIANA AT THIS TIME...WITH WIDESPREAD 1-2 INCH REPORTS BEGINNING TO FILTER IN. LIKELY WILL SEE A FEW SPOTS...PROBABLY ACROSS NORTHWEST OR NORTH CENTRAL PORTIONS OF THE AREA...GET UP TO 3 INCHES. AN AREA OF SLEET FOLLOWS ON THE SOUTHWEST FLANK OF THIS BAND...AND MOST ANYTHING BEHIND THAT SHOULD BEGIN TO CHANGE OVER TO RAIN/DRIZZLE LATE OR FREEZING RAIN/FREEZING DRIZZLE WHERE SURFACE TEMPS SUPPORT IT. UPDATE MAINLY MADE SLIGHT ADJUSTMENTS TO OVERNIGHT POPS TO COINCIDE WITH MAIN BAND. THINKING ON PRECIP TYPE REMAINS RELATIVELY SIMILAR TO EARLIER. PRODUCTS WILL BE OUT SHORTLY.
