patrick05
I have a feeling with all the talk increasing about this potential storm, we might see TWC naming this as their first this season.. They definitely have the viewership due to the wake of Sandy...
famartin
I sure hope the EC is wrong. The coast cannot take that extra battering.
ag3
Only good news is that the storm would come at the lowest possible astronomical tide possible. In between the full and new moon.
MikeS
What kind of temps and precipitation are we looking at?
Storm At Sea
VERY close to a mix in the I-95. Temps in the low 40's during the day and mid 30's at night. H850's in around 2-4C. However, Euro is strong enough that it brings sub-0 850 mb temps SE of the I-95 with what appears to be a changeover. GFS was on the warmish side today. Snow_Miser
18z GFS is running. Out to hour 66.
MJO812
Euro ensemble mean is cooler than the op.
Snow_Miser
Euro ensemble mean is cooler than the op. Probably because it's east of where the Operational had the SLP. It's also weaker, so it doesn't draw as much warm air, which can be expected with a mean.
Snow_Miser
Looks like the northern stream is getting more involved this time at 500 mb during hr 99 on the 18z GFS.
Snow_Miser
A LOT more interaction with the two streams than was present on the 12z GFS.
Snow_Miser
Closed off low now at h5 during hour 117. The two branches are now phased.
Snow_Miser
No real high to the north to supply any cold air. Regardless, this is a lot more rain than the coast needs.

Yorkpa25
Great timing of the phase, nice track of storm, plenty of moisture just no cold air supply. What a waste
