2010 extreme
With 2008s many widespread and damaging events 2011 will be hard to beat its record. (the 2006 season will be within reach but how are we supposed to measure.) It will at least be an interesting year as the left over winter la nina dies off in the spring and summer. Lots of cold air and upper level cold air will be left over from Canadas likely to be brutal winter while the southeast ridge albeit dying will help provide the warm sfc air. This is unless el nino comes in and wrecks the season as it did in 09. Will it beat 2008?!?!?!
