Bostonseminole
In case anyone gives a crap, I am alive. No power at the place I'm staying at and no power at my job in nyack. Boss is trying to run things off of generator but so far failing. The past 2 days I was not at work. This has allowed me to drive up and down Rockland county to observe the damage. In a word it has been an amazing experience. I have taken tons of photos, helped clear on ramps to 287, chatted with on location television reporters, and witness the sadness of people young and old. I snuck into places that I was not allowed in order to experience and document the aftermath. Once I am able to get to a stable location with internet. I will post my photos. I will post in metro ny as it is not sne related. On phone right now. Good to hear you are alive!

N. OF PIKE
Difference between modeling a superstorm and a progressive snowstorm should be noted by all. and perhaps remembered next time we have a superstorm modeled by almost all guidance 7 days out. Baroclinic Zone
LOL at the 12z GFS solution today. Initial s/w clear us and cools everyone off and the follow up s/w Miller B's and hits the interior hard before changeover. We may want to get a thread started just so we can see the cirrus fly by in a weeks time.

CoastalWx
LOL at the son of Sandy on the GFS. Comes in from the NW, similar H5 pattern in the midwest.
Sugarloaf1989
Honestly the last thing that people without a home or power need is a storm of any kind. A few week's of sunny and normal weather would be best.

Baroclinic Zone
Heck of a storm on the GFS. Looked like rain, changing over to snow, changing back to rain for the interior. Cold though.
CoastalWx
Looked like rain, changing over to snow, changing back to rain for the interior. Cold though. Yeah a weird track and changeover. My guess would be that GFS is too warm for interior areas like Berks and ORH county.....but we are also commenting on something far out in time. Yeah, nice ageo there, would likely keep the interior cooler. Interesting run though.

I don't really expect a full all out winter onslaught on November 8th, so fine with me. We'll have to watch the far interior at least.

ctsnowstorm628
H5 is really similar, though not as extreme, as this past week, hence the retrograding solution. Looks like mainly rain for everyone outside the norther ORH hills and Berks, and even they changeover..then again its 6-7days out. I start forecasting for VT AOT today...totally pumped we have something to track along with it.

CoastalWx
what was your peak the other day? BOS was 54kts. I don't have an anemometer, but some report of a marina near Castle island of 72mph. Personally, I thinks gusts were closer to 60 near my house. CoastalWx
Pattern is such that block sets up combined with west coast ridge to form possible negatively tilted trough. Not sure of cutoff potential as new trough moves into west coast and may keep pattern moving.
